JCBS chapter 27 . 1/27 KR! I’m so happy to have just finished MT again! I’m sad to have reached the end, but so happy with the kickass ending you gave us (and Han and Leia)! Now I’m off to search for a honeymoon epilogue. Xo |
JaimeGirl84 chapter 27 . 12/23/2019 Holy hell. I was brought back to this website purely because of you, and because of this story, and I’ve just spent two days reading the whole thing from start to finish. To finish! It’s a masterpiece. And oh, how we all wish this was canon! If there was a vote for who we could put in charge of the canon, I’d sign up in a heartbeat to be your campaign manager and you’d win in a landslide. Congratulations on the mammoth task of getting this story completed, I applaud you from the bottom of my heart. I am now on a mission to read every single word that you will ever write. Seriously, if you have anything published you need to DM me with titles because I will buy them and read the shit out of them! Thank you for this story, thank you for your voice, and giving life to these characters that mean so much to so many people. Your biggest fan, Jaime |
just a fan chapter 27 . 4/13/2019 i absolutely love this story, favourite one i’ve ever read. |
aurelie.hugot chapter 1 . 6/24/2018 Well, I was browsing through finished stories of this fandom again after a long time. And I was so happy to see that you have posted a new story! I could not stop reading it, even at work. You have managed to capture these two perfectly! Your take on their life after the rebellion is so utterly creative and gripping. Please never stop being so beautifully creative. |
Jaina Durron chapter 6 . 5/16/2018 So. I went to school this morning and I'd screenshot this entire chapter so that I could read. And there were so. Many. Screenshots. But I didn't get time to read. So, I got home and I read it and- I reached the end long before I was ready. One thing that really sticks out to me about this chapter is how you show how deep Han and Leia's relationship goes, how deep that connection is and how much they care for each other. Of course, after the end of Chapter 5, there's this tension between them, a bubbling disagreement, but even while they're still on each other's nerves, freshly furious and impatient, nothing gets in the way of their bond and how concerned they are always are for each other. Also, I love other aspects and details to how you've portrayed their relationship. I can't think of the right word, so allow me to word vomit here but- easygoing? Casual? I don't know. I think it's the post-ROTJ setting and how you portray Han and Leia's relationship in a state of semi-normalcy and things are- not always crazy? But I don't even mean this in reference to the quieter, calmer parts of the story. Actually, I'm thinking about the speeder chase. Just the way they're interacting. Top notch HL bickering right there! And such a cute ending. I love that final line so much! Not just because it's so sweet/sad- Han taking reassurance in Leia's every breath, the heat of her body beside his- but when I read that line, it reminded me of a line earlier in the chapter. After their fight and Han doesn't want to go to sleep because he won't be able to without her. Then, you end the chapter with Leia out and Han calming himself, resting beside her, at peace. Anyway, this whole chapter was great- just like every other ;) Loving it! |
YT1300 chapter 27 . 4/19/2018 I am so very very impressed with this story! Although I've read and loved many of your other pieces I sat on this one for a while thinking, 'Spies? Nah...' and it was long and I often only have time to read in short bursts. Finally I decided to read it and I was absolutely hooked from start to finish. I not only loved the portrayals of Han and Leia and their relationship but the sheer scope and complexity of the plot, and the inclusion of new and old characters. This was what the novels should have been, but weren't. There are several other authors on here who write Han and Leia particularly well. Your versions in this story were a little different to some others I've read, tougher and smarter and less overtly romantic but in many ways perhaps truer to the movies. Well done and thank you for sticking with the story! |
Zyra M chapter 27 . 2/3/2018 And finally finished, yay! You're just so, so good at all of this. This is just perfect, Han and Leia working together to be this badass power couple and I love the insistence that they will always, ALWAYS be working together on this. This is the way I want to see Han and Leia after ROTJ. I worry for anyone who would have to deal with them as they seem to be an amazing team, both so strong and smart in their tactics, and of course totally devoted to each other as well. I don't really know what else to say except thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for coming back to us after your long hiatus and putting in all the effort to finish this out. |
Zyra M chapter 22 . 2/3/2018 And it just keeps getting better. Han's reaction seems entirely appropriate. And I loved Leia's entrance here too, with Han just thinking she is stunning. It's just so great to see them working through all of this together. I'm trying and failing to come up with a review worthy of this so I'll just leave it with still loving it! |
Zyra M chapter 21 . 2/2/2018 Ok, one more tonight, and wow, what a great chapter. I love the beginning, Leia really being vulnerable here, and Han's observation of her incredible empathy. And that she finally wants to marry him! And I love that they went to Kashyyyk of all places, and the observation that the Wookiees are all just happy to see Leia and happy for Han and totally free of all the judgments she is forced to endure elsewhere. So it makes it even more fitting that she can truly relax and enjoy all of this. I also love that they had a very small, private ceremony with no fanfare whatsoever. And of course I love the end. Very sweet with the references to Leia being basically captivated by looking at the ring on his finger. So glad I'm finally catching up because I can't believe this has been here for this long and I've missed it! |
Zyra M chapter 20 . 2/2/2018 I am finally, finally, FINALLY reading through this whole thing. I had not realized that it had been since 2016 I think that I actually last reviewed, so now I feel terrible. But I have gone back to the beginning and re-read and gotten here so far, and had to comment again before moving on. And now I remember why I didn't regret reading it so long ago even when I was afraid it might never be finished. Just so, so good. You manage to do something that is so rare, which is to have such an intriguing actual PLOT and I am hugely jealous of your ability to do that, lol. I just love seeing Han and Leia working together as a team, but also here working separately and getting to see Leia prove what an incredible badass warrior lady she is, because clearly nobody should mess with her. And yes, I agree, writing Han and Leia separate is the worst! So I'll leave this now to read more of them together after I also say that I love that they are finally together, and the fact that he just absolutely had to kiss her before he went to fly them away and that is just so Han. Ok, now back to reading... |
Kirsin chapter 27 . 1/26/2018 Thank you for this story! I discovered it on Monday, and then my dog had to have emergency surgery. It’s exactly what I needed to distract me from my worry over him. I love your characterization, and how you managed such a complex plot. Thank you! |
Art Of Words chapter 5 . 1/2/2018 I've only just started this, but I am thoroughly enjoying it so far. Looking forward to the rest! |
annaegibson chapter 27 . 10/4/2017 I'm new to this site, but I found your stuff and devoured it all within a matter of days! This story was by far my favorite. Please continue to write. I will definitely be following you! :) |
Cicatrick chapter 27 . 9/3/2017 Agh. I've been beginning and deleting this review since you posted because it's bound to fail me, and more importantly, you. But this chapter is so intelligent, so full of wit and plot and action and just the most incredible Han and Leia, that it's a deeply satisfying and resonant conclusion to what is a goddamn masterwork of not just fic but novel-writing. I keep coming back to the word "lasting" because your stuff lasts in my mind with such resonance and power that it's unique. I've never been able to separate your many talents to the most emphatic one, and I shouldn't try, because sometimes it's the ruthlessly measured beauty of your language that somehow remains alive and fluid, never rigid or stagy, that I love best. And sometimes it's the elegant logic and plotting that gives your wild imagination its bedrock. Others it's the crackling action, the impossible sexiness, the revealing and funny and perfectly in-character, just-slightly offbeat in the ideal way dialogue (you are the farthest thing from on-the-nose). Your incredibly corporeal universe and way with the body. Sometimes I appreciate something as workmanlike as your exacting editing- I can feel all the enrichment of whatever you've cut, even as I revel in the rightness and leanness of your style because you did. I'm gonna echo erindarroch here because she's always so perceptive and eloquent: your Han and Leia are a perfect Han and Leia to go on after RotJ. There are no ifs, ands, buts, Bens about it: YOU understand. You have taste and talent and standards to give us a masterpiece like this, one that we'll all read and re-read (I can't wait to start again and check out your edits). You are such a righteous, remarkable and blazing talent, and I look forward- strain forward, actually- to whatever you create next because you're brilliant, brave, and relentlessly in search of new heights. You can take us anywhere. In the meantime, please accept my heartfelt congratulations, thanks, and applause for Mighty Things, a massive cornerstone of the fandom and something I'll hold close always. |
G8RnCLT chapter 27 . 9/3/2017 Words truly pale when trying to tell you how bitter sweet it is the read the last chapter of this story! I came late to the party, somehow not finding this story until about 6 months ago and then devouring it, to that point, in one sitting and being amazed at the quality and the visuals you provided with your writing! Thank you so much for your dedication to completing this and I can't wait to see where you go from here...wherever it is, I will follow. Fabulous job! |
