I have loved Scarecrow and Mrs King since it was originally broadcast on TV. I think that’s where my fondness for couples who fight until they fall in love came from:) I recently started rewatching the DVDs and needed something more than the same episodes I already know so well. Your story was absolutely what I wanted. It was a perfect blend of agency casework and character development, and I you nailed their voices perfectly. And Lee’s “I want to come home. Please,” made me swoon just a tiny bit.

I know you wrote this like a million years ago, but I thought you’d like to know that it’s still finding readers almost 20 years later. Thanks for a great story that was just what I wanted.

Lee told Amanda that he missed her ... twice! Lee acknowledged to himself that Amanda is his home; that was utter euphoria. Then he told her that he loves her and she said the same back to him ... there are no words, just pure joy! Poor Lee was really put through the wringer in Rome; yet looking back, he would say it was the key to unlock this marvelous turning point in their relationship. A deep and abiding friendship blossoms into a deep and abiding love.

This was an amazing story that held me in suspense and it was well-written, too! Frustrating and painful as it was that Lee and Amanda were an ocean apart for most of it, you made the wait so incredibly worthwhile. As the Psalmist wrote, "joy cometh in the morning."

Rough as it was, being in Rome far away from Amanda, Lee is getting his priorities straight. Betcha that Lee's "one other stop" is to see Amanda before he crashes for 24 hours.

How sweet it is to hear Francine's newfound respect for Amanda! Bad news: Amanda lost a layer of skin ... OUCH! Good news: It's her left palm and she's right-handed. The dynamic duo of WRW4 and Phoenix didn't exactly work together, but they got the job done!

Veronica came through in the clutch, very impressive. The aerial cavalry has arrived! Once they stop bickering, maybe they'll catch up to Amanda and Veronica and help nail the bad guys.

Missing his Amanda something fierce and pea green with envy, Lee better pass out before anything happens with that ginger girl in Rome!

Oh Billy, you will be one among many felled by Scarecrow's Agency-wide bloodbath, if even a hair on Amanda's head is missing! This chapter was way short, but I guess it fits like a tension-filled Emergency Room setting.

Both Amanda and WRW4 actually did a fine job interpreting Leatherneck. When will The Agency boys ever learn? Oh well, you tell 'em, Amanda, just like the guy in the film, "Network" (1975): "I'm mad as hell and I'm NOT going to take it anymore!" This is getting fun ... and scary!

These dudes are bad news so it's all hands on deck and Billy's cutting them loose. Where's Scarecrow to remind him that it's Amanda, who persistently finds trouble wherever she goes? At least Francine was sufficiently shocked, it prompted Leatherneck to work some magic ... hopefully!

Feeling sorry for Amanda because Dotty can be such an annoying flibbertigibbet in the presence of any man of marriageable age ... except for dull Dean. Amanda's gown sounds lovely and designed specifically for Lee's habitual hand on the small of her back. Something tells me this will get back to Lee ... LOL!

Lee just isn't enjoying life's so far apart from Amanda. That Agents in Rome, Italy have heard about her took Lee by surprise. If only he knew how many vultures were circling Amanda back in D.C., he'd have a seizure!

So deliciously sneaky, Amanda! Giving Francine the candy is brilliant and, in my head, you're thinking "once on the lips, forever on the hips" while laughing like a loon. Billy's eye-opening chat with Amanda in the Q Bureau demonstrated that he is one totally awesome Field Section Chief!

Sheesh, Dotty, do you realize you broke apart an impending kiss? Stop pestering Amanda to marry again if you're just going to eavesdrop and interfere! Warm milk my a$$, you wanted to get a look at him. At least Lee managed to part on good terms, apologizing for treating Amanda so poorly.

Billy's taking the bull by the horns, pairing Amanda with the MI-6 Commander, promising more training and giving her a code name. Let Lee be a loner again for one mission so he better appreciates her.

This story is off and running with animosity between Lee and Amanda, made worse with Lee's jealousy over the visiting WRW4. This ought to be fun reading!
