The Goliath Beetle chapter 1 . 5/28/2012 I agree with JoeMerl's should try and expand on the idea. As introspective pieces go, I wasn't particularly happy. This is because you could have done it in a more creative way. Yet, I like how this was worded, and the ending line was excellent. I love how you've tried to understand Ozai, and it's interesting to see how he did, at one point of time, love. Yet, I see his love as being subtle and not as warm as what most would consider the idea of love to be. I also strongly doubt that he cared for Zuko at all. (Maybe he did, when Zuko was a baby, but as the boy grew, Ozai saw him as a disappointment.) Anyway, this was a great little piece. Good job :) |
PackageDelivery chapter 1 . 7/30/2008 This as a very nice prospective on Ozai. The tragedy of Iroh's life through Ozai's eyes is emotional yet possibly canon. I like how you showed that Ozai did at one point cared for his family. It makes Ozai human and it also shows how he became ruthless. Faved~ |
JoeMerl chapter 1 . 7/15/2008 Personally, I like the theory that he's just pure evil. :-) But this serves as a good explanation for why Ozai may have turned as heartless as he is. Actually I think it would be interesting if you expanded on this idea, in terms not just of Ursa but also his kids-particularly Azula, the only person Ozai arguably may still love. |
