Such a sad ending…

When I decide to review this chapter I noticed the discontinue notice and the adoption notice... good. I'm going to stop reading as this is not a truly completed story.

I would like to apologize first for being critical, but I hope in future you would do more research on the physiology of the body and basic first aid if you are going to use it for a story. This story had a decent start, but this chapter really turned me down. I do realize that this story was written 4 years ago, and I haven't read your other stories to know if you do more research now, so if you already know what I was going to criticize on, then please ignore the rest of the review.

1. A mere cut on a wrist, even if deep enough to sever the whole radial artery (wrist artery), is unlikely to result in enough blood loss to cause the person to lose their carotid pulse (neck pulse) in such short span of time (it seems Conan made it to Kaito's place shortly after Kaito cut himself). It may happen if they have some sort of medical conditions that prevents their blood from clotting normally or they use other means on top of the cut to drain themselves (remember a Conan chapter where a lady was killed by a few cuts on her wrist with her hand in a bath tub? The running water would promote bleeding enough to cause death in a few hours).

2. If someone lost enough blood to lose their carotid pulse, tying a shoelace won't be enough to bring their pulse back, awake and talking logically. A blood transfusion is definitely needed.

3. Conan knows enough first aid (evident by the chapter where he did artificial respiration for a poisoned victim who had trouble breathing) to know that stopping bleeding is important, so he shouldn't need to ask Ran to figure that out. And while stopping bleeding is important, if Kaito's carotid pulse was not palpable, he should jump right into doing CPR as brain damage occurs in as little as 4 minutes of lacking oxygen (as taught in most basic first aid courses).

4. I'm surprised neither Conan, Ran, or Aoko thought of calling an ambulance right away. I'm even more surprised that Conan thought of calling Ran first! He always took charge of the situation and that's like the first thing he does whenever he sees a murder (call police, and call ambulance if the victim is alive). Just because it was Kaitou KID should make no difference since he knows that saving a life always comes first. He had panicked before when Ran was in danger but he never lost his critical thinking.

I took a quick peek at the adopted version for this chapter and I'm glad the new author took out the whole "no carotid pulse" part. I just felt I should make this review to clarify the correct first aid and steps for treating an emergency.

Wooohoo, it's done! The author really fought this chapter, her author's note greatly understates the sheer anguish she went through while rewriting this.

Anyways...ummm...bleh, I have nothing to say, and I don't watch Detective Conan so I can't suggest any crack pairings either :(

I know you don't really like writing for this story, and that you think it's absolute crap. However, the comment you left at the end of this chapter caught my attention. The fact that you were (by my reckoning) 14 when you wrote this frankly amazes me. I started writing at that age myself, but my chapters were hardly a few hundred words and never went anywhere. This story has caught my rapt attention, however, and being a writer with a large vocabulary and little patience for poorly written stories tells me that even if you have to rework it to your liking that you're an excellent writer. I look forward to more of this story and at least a few of your other ones. .

I've been on a quest to find completed KaiShin fics... good ones at that... but now I resorted just to read anything I find.

I skipped this story many times due to the "On Hiatus" notice, but... just damn.

Some parts were a bit iffy because I thought Kaito met Conan first before Shinichi... and how did Shinich reappear again? (Also, there was grammar errors in each chapter... and "quote" is actually verb - the proper word would be "quotation... but I'm rambling)

Despite that, it's very suspenseful, and gives me a rush. And I did not like finding out the cliffhanger you left your readers on.

I hope you find your inspiration for this story - it has so much potential to become greater. Alas, if you cannot, you still did a damn fine job.
