Reviews for The Sleeper Awakens
ironspike68 chapter 8 . 5/3/2018
This is, without a doubt, the best Doctor / Firefly cross over I've read. I don't know if there will be a followup, but I sure hope so.

yashendra2797 chapter 8 . 7/7/2014
omg! this story was awesome! any plans for a sequel?
minicpst chapter 3 . 10/27/2013
*Daleks. It was the year 200100, so 197,583 years difference between Firefly and when Jack died by the Daleks. Not 20,000 years.

Good story so far, other than a few grammatical and canonical errors. I can completely see Jack being a browncoat with Mal and Zoe. And the Alliance trying to see what makes him tick.
Em chapter 8 . 4/6/2013
THIS WAS AWESOME! Thank you so much for this! Not only for working all of the characters into it so smoothly, but also for making them so realistic. I loved the plot and dialogue and truly enjoyed the twists. Especially the ending!

Crystal M. Key chapter 8 . 2/11/2013
Oh, oh, this is bril. I really hope you've made a sequel which I can devour. I absolutely *loved* River and Jenny's Blues Brothers bit. And the River Song at the end, bwahahaha! Thanks! Favorite quotes:

"The Fob Watch." Jack stood with his arms folded across his chest, "Where is it?"

"What?" Gabriel blinked, unsure what they were asking, "I don't understand."

"When you adopted River, there was a silver fob-watch." Simon explained, "Where is it?"

"I don't know what you're talking about." His father shook his head, "Look..."

Jack pulled a silencer out of his pocket and started to screw it into the end of his pistol.

"Wrong answer." Mal shrugged, "Trust me, I've seen him in action; you want to start talking before he gets impatient."

"I am impatient." Jack pointed his gun and the chair and fired, the bullet ripping through the fabric covered seat between the prisoner's legs, just an inch away from his crotch.

"Gao yang jong duh goo yang!" Gabriel managed to back himself further into the seat, flattening himself against the backrest. "Are you crazy?" he spluttered in fear and outrage.

"It's a distinct possibility." Jack nodded as he aimed a few crucial inches higher, "Now, about the watch, or do you want to be signing soprano for the rest of your life?"

"It was just a watch, nothing important!" Gabriel almost babbled, sweat poring off of his head, "They said that I was to keep an eye on River, and let them know if anything, unusual happens, and to keep her away from the watch at all costs."

"Where is it?" Simon asked, hiding his shock about how far his companions were willing to go.

"There's a secret compartment, in the desk." His father nodded towards one of the legs, "You have to press in the arrowhead there in the side panel, then turn it round so it points down instead of up and press it back in."

"Anything I don't like happens, and I promise you, you'll die slow." Mal warned as he followed the instructions.

...

"Are you going to tell us exactly what that watch is?" Mal asked, looking at the pocket in his former comrade's coat that contained the subject of their mission, "Because if it turns out to be nothing more than a watch, then we're going to find out just how impossible to kill you actually are."

...

"So this untrained and potentially dangerous Time Lord you found is safe, or at least the closest thing to safe we're likely to get, but that's only half the question." The Doctor stood, his demeanour shifting back to deadly serious, "That doesn't explain just how she even got here in the first place."

"That's a very good point." Jack looked around, a glint in his eye, "In fact, I think I know where we can find just the people to ask..."

...

"We're clear of the gravity well; nothing on the scanner's that could even come close to catching us." Jenny sat at the Asimov's controls, a pair of tinted glasses pulled down over her eyes to reduce the glair from the controls, and looked across at River, who was sat in the co-pilots seat with an identical pair of glasses, "It's a hundred and six parsecs to Earth, we've got a full tank of fuel, half a pack of jelly-babies, it's always dark in space, and we're wearing sunglasses."

"Hit it!" River gestured forward with one finger, a contented smile on her face; this was going to be so much fun!

hahahah, this was fun...:) nice job!
Tzapporah chapter 8 . 11/8/2012
You might want to enlist your beta reader again for the chapters for which they were absent. There were a number of things that needed fixing. Aside from that, quite an amusing fic.
Bard of Chaos chapter 8 . 10/23/2012
Runtse de fwotzoo, ching baoyo wuomun...

You said it. Now it's a party! Can't wait for more!
erik chapter 8 . 10/3/2012
The proverbial bad peeny just turned up. A well written crossover that managed to use and maintain both canon. Well done.
alan.haywood chapter 8 . 9/13/2012
Thank you. My favourite Dr Who/Firefly crossover so far. Thanks for avoiding the obvious possibilities for River. I adore the ending with River Song.
Arathelia chapter 8 . 8/13/2012
HA! They temporarily lose one River only to get a new one. That was very clever of you.

And I like how the Doctor hasn't yet met Jack. It reminds me of the wibbly wobbly timey wimey moments of the actual show. Very nice.

Loved the story, and just adore your use of Jenny. I knew she was still out there somewhere!
Guest chapter 3 . 7/18/2012
32 down on the Robert McKenzie!
Yes, I had to stop and give props for the Due South reference - assuming you meant it. That song will now be stuck in my head for the rest of the day.
As for the story - very interesting start! I think you've got Jack nailed and the other characters pretty together. I worry a little about godling-River - but look forward to seeing more!
