An amazing part two, and can’t wait to get through part three! The plot was so perfectly tied together, I’m amazed! From the visions and prophecies to slight hints into characters and their thinking - everything! The fight to the death and Mara’s realizations before, during, and after the whole thing were amazing! Anyone else would probably have ended the story here, with Luke as the new Emperor and the future a giant question mark, so even without having read part three I’m already saying thank you for not ending it here! My only regret is that Vader had to die, but I’m relieved at the way you went about it - how you gave it a real reason, made it a solid turning point, and even granted Anakin the return to the Light out of love for his son that we all treasured from the original climax of the movie. Looking forward to what this all means for the future in part three, especially in regards to Leia and Han! Maybe there’s a possibility for a happy ending? Not a perfect ending of course, since this series keeps things firmly and impressively realistic, but something satisfying that brings a smile to my face? Oh! And I wanted to comment on Palpatine’s tie and claim to Anakin, and thus Luke - THAT is an amazing idea and is just SO plausible! It answers so much and makes so much sense, I’m actually curious if it’s in some way canon? I have no familiarity with the extended universe, just the movies, but it just explains so much! Anyway, again, amazing job and excited for the grand finale!

The fight between Luke and Palpatine was cathartic as hell. I love everrything about this.

Ahhh this series just keeps getting better and better! I LOVED your portrayal of dark Luke in this, the political and personal manipulations were so interesting to read, especially the way not all of the cards were on the table until the very end!
Luke and Vader's relationship in particular was FANTASTIC, I love how it's not quite satisfying, because they're in a really bad situation and there's no way to really make up for how Vader acted, but his ending was phenomenal and it nearly made me cry. On top of that, the image of Luke throwing himself onto Palpatine's lightsaber so he could kill him has probably become one of the most impactful, most vivid moments I've ever read about in fanfiction.
Mara and Luke's relationship as well, remained compelling until the very end, and I can't wait to see where you take it next! Their conversation where she persuades Luke not to leave was so emotional, so artfully written, and just agh. I'm in awe of your skill.

The changes to Luke as a character and the ongoing duel of wills between him and Palpatine is fantastic. You really feel him slowly adapting to the real world (as it applies around the Emperor). Excellent read. :)

Just spent the day re-reading this. It's so good, this should be published. I've been recommending this story to my friends to read.

This was soooooo brilliant, I can't believe it took me this long to finish and I still have another story to go. YAY!

I really liked how you handled Vader in this story, his end was perfect it sort of felt that his character had come full circle when he quoted Obi-Won's last words. It was perfect!

Mara and Luke's romance is believable and very well developed. The end of chapter 13 and the entirety of chapter 14 were extremely well written.

What an awesome fight! While contrasting greatly in execution compared to Luke and Vader's lightsaber duel in Into the Storm, it was mind blowing all the same. With their personalities being described in great care in the first part of the duel, it looked like more psychological than physical fight to me, though the second part morphed into another level after Mara's arrival.

I felt sad for Vader. He fell to the dark side, did all of Palpatine's dirty deeds and was dismissed like some insignificant nuisance. I had hope that Vader's final fight with Palpatine would be given the same courtesy as an outstanding Force user, but it would go against the build-up and death of his character. (And he wasn't the main anti-hero protagonist in this story). Luke fighting Palpatine using Vader's lightsaber and ending his life using both of their lightsabers though, was poetic justice.

I still kinda wanted to kill Mara, but since Luke needed her more than me, I was willing to tolerate her existence (;
