I’m not great at writing reviews so I’m afraid this won’t be particularly eloquent but this story was great - the character development, realistic relationships, the way you wove in the plot without it feeling like a boring rehash, and the pacing! The pacing was great! The confrontation with mannimarco comes to mind. I’m not sure how but something in the way you write that scene - I think it might have been your descriptions - made me remember it as particularly well written.

This was and is a very cute story, and yes I liked it.

Not many Elder Scrolls fan fictions have captured my interest for long; actually, I had never encountered a single Oblivion fanfiction that I enjoyed long enough to continue reading. Yours, however-yours is the exception.
The writing of itself captured me. The description-not to short to be vague, but not to long to be mundane-was superb. Fascinating, really. It offered me details I needed to know, but left tiny blank holes to fit my imagination in. You guided my thoughts to flow with the story, to predict, assume, and challenge every new action that occurred in the story. You didn't entirely manipulate /me/, but you drove my thoughts in a way that you wanted, whether or not you did it consciously.
The plot was... well, if the ratings for your story should prove a point, it should be that your twist on the plot was like no other. The combination of mages and assassins I've seen many times, but the mere presentation that you gave shirked all other stories in comparison. The ending I honestly predicted, since nearly every story involving Lucien Lachance always ends with passionate love. It could be considered cliche, I suppose, but it's a cliche that I can live with and-even better-embrace and love. Original stories, I feel, should be allowed that one freedom.
The characters were lovable in every way, even those that we hated with all the passion of the world. Naturally, I was wary of your character; Mary-Sues are not short in population, and it is common for another to sprout up-especially in a high-rated story. Lisette was occasionally annoying in her unusual advancement in magicka, but I came to terms with the fact that never in the Elder Scrolls world would the Dark Brotherhood have been interested in a girl who was only average in magical abilities. I learned to accept her as a main character, and soon I started to cry with her, laugh with her, and mouth-off like her. And your delivery of the more canon characters was nothing short from spot-on.
I could go on and on about this, really. All I have to say is that you are the physical representation of who I want to be if I succeed as a writer. You are the literal manifestation of everything I adore in an author. You are the one that can pull someone like me out from her writer's block and back on her feet and to her stories. I commend you. You are really just that /good/.

Apple and black are two meanings of words with 'mel', methinks. Both of them are quite fitting, given the fact he works LuLa, but considering the colour theme, it's probably the latter.

Pardon, you don't get the review at the end of this story but near to the end since I cannot not brag with my knowledge. I've read the whole story in one day and I love it how you introduced the Dark Brotherhood already in the beginning. It was imo a rather stark change in Blanche's personality when she stopped being an innocent bystander but began murdering freely after the Tournament, but everything else I really love.

You and your story is the definition of the word 'brilliant'. I think that brilliant doesn't cut it though. Teehee. I just decided to dig around for some older fics, mostly Oblivion ones, and I would like to thank you for being one of the select few that made digging very rewarding, because this is a real treasure right here. I'm sorry that I couldn't offer any insight on what I thought of the writing style, portrayal and whatnot that more seasoned er...critics(?) have been giving :) it's just that I'm not good with expressing myself regarding those kind of things. But, rest assured, you have a part of my soul thanks to this fic (as well as other amazing authors have their parts of it) and I hope you get to read this :D have a fantastic life awesome person *flies away with Lucien (oops)*

I've been reading it nonstop since I found it (x3). And it is awesome. I really like how you portrayed Lucien. And I love that you stuck with Lisette's character, even through everything that happened-her character was realistic, well-rounded. Hell, I even liked how you portrayed Bellamont.

I cannot claim to have ever been a huge fan of LaChance though I loathed purifying the santuary to the point where I dreaded the doing the missions on subseaquent playthroughs. But I loved this story. Utterly engrossing.

Wow. I am at a loss for words. I recently finished the dark brotherhood quest line ( I was horrified by the ending. Being listener gave me no satisfaction after Lucien's death) and I knew I had to come back and finish this story. I loved everything about this story, the characters, the writing, the plot, EVERYTHING. I love the ending and how Lucien is alive and has what he truly deserves - his happiness. I read the second half of the story in just one day, that's how much I loved it. The plot is gripping and your character development amazing. Keep up with writing, you will go far if you chose to (please publish a book or something, the rest of the world is surly missing out). Best of luck to you! Walk Always

This chapter is done so well, it doesn't seem OOC for Lucien but does all the things we want to see. I didn't realise how much tension had been built up through the story until she gave in to the idea. Great job :D
