It's an intriguing start to the story, but it could do with a bit of neatening up maybe. The way the speech is displayed changes a couple of times (from normal novel-written speech to script speech back to novel speech).

But it's an interesting enough idea. I'd maybe pick a more dramatic opening than arguing about turkey, but stick to it!
