Graci chapter 1 . 1/12/2013 Beautiful... But terrifying. I love it! |
arrancar125 chapter 1 . 8/13/2012 this was intriguing but that still doesnt excuse ozai for what he did. but this does give me something to think about. excellent job. |
Guest chapter 1 . 7/15/2012 I really like the backstory here. There's no way Ozai was only doing what was honorable/expected of him, but not many people have explored the real/additional reasons for challenging Zuko to an Agni Kai, so the fact that you did is pretty cool. The fact that you tied in Ozai's love of Ursa, though, is just plain awesome! *adds to head canon* |
XXCaptainUsoppXX chapter 1 . 6/18/2011 Wow, a very interesting idea for why Ozai aimed for Zuko's face. |
Thomson chapter 1 . 2/21/2011 Really great story! I really like the whole idea of Ursa choosing Zuko over Ozai and having that line "I love Zuko more than I fear you" belong to her. Very clever. |
Arisprite chapter 1 . 12/27/2010 Wow! Just wow...I love the parallel with him and Azula and how he was glad it was his face so he didn't have to see Ursa in Zuko's glances. Good work! Ari |
marwamarwa chapter 1 . 7/6/2010 "i love Zuko more than i fear you" just like what Mai said to Azula! anyway it was awesomely awesome. |
weasley-twins-41 chapter 1 . 4/26/2010 wow this was excellent! nice writing! |
Dutch92 chapter 1 . 7/26/2008 OMG intense! But at the same time amazing! Very awesome story wonderful wonderful job! |
nekodreamstealer chapter 1 . 6/5/2008 omg im impressed...so deep |
PetertheChameleon chapter 1 . 5/31/2008 I actually thought it was pretty awesome! I liked the projection of Ursa on Zuko, and Ozai's motive for burning him actually being his own emotional weakness (counterpointed quite nicely with the crowd's belief in his strength and Ursa's imaginary pleas for him to stop). I also liked how you focused it on Ozai's attempts to burn her face from his memory, with the result being him burning *Zuko's* face - that was a pretty neat use of metaphor! The supposition that Ozai burned Zuko because he blamed him for him losing Ursa makes perfect sense and is completely IC. And actually, even if he's still insane in this fic, it makes him more human. Gives him more reason to do something like that, other than psychotic, overbearing pride. I don't know, I just thought it was pretty cool (and I admit I clicked because I saw your name, but I'm now glad I did). “I love Zuko more than I fear you.” - that's such an awesome line. Both from Ursa and from its effects on Ozai. Great stuff. |
