Your story is so good. Your way of writing, how you developed the characters, how you showed how his mind work and all he is going through. And how she little by little, help him get back into life, and how she little by little learns of how she feels for her. And how they both heal and comfort each other.

I have already read awesome reviews here, so I wont keep repeating how great and coherent your characters are, how well paced your writing is, how honest the relationship your portrait feels, and so on.
I just wish you hadn't abandoned this and we could all follow your great story to its end. It is hard to find a deep fanfiction like this (and not cheesy and exaggerated and awfully OC ones), and this one surely deserves to be finished and to be read.

What are the odds for you to update after years, you are a great writer and I like how you interpret Shikamaru and Temari

This is so far the most accurate (you know, how Shikamaru and Temari will act on those situation) fanfiction 3

Even though this hasn't been updated in six years (nor did I see you have any type of activity recently – I can only assume that you haven't been on here since then), I figured since I enjoyed this masterpiece of a work, it would only be appropriate to leave a proper review. Even if only so people won't skip over this great piece – considering you stopped it right after a good scene (and the fact that its' canon) it can be taken as an open ending in its' own right, leaving it to the readers' imagination, which isn't a bad way to close a story in of itself.

You have a good solid concept (not necessarily a plot which I firmly believe you don't need to write a good story), good grammar and the pacing is absolutely perfect. What really affected me in a positive note is the fact that you have both Shikamaru and Temari adhere very closely to their canon selves. In my opinion, this in of itself is something relatively easy to do, yet it seems impossible with a good majority of the more recent Shikamaru and Temari fanfiction. You portray their relationship as very close and, I'll go even as far as to say, rather intimate. They know and trust each other well enough, and, with the way you were handling it, we were beginning to see them explore that intimacy in depth. We see Shikamaru obviously dealing with a lot on his mind – his sensei's death, his ambition to become a good and qualified ninja to protect those he cares about. We really get to see him grow from the lazy genius in the academy to this hard working brilliant man – I absolutely love how you also managed to squeeze Temari into his situation without having her or him be too emotional.

Now, this bit is all bias on my part, but again, I figured it was more than appropriate to express myself in this review (for others who want to see if its' worth a read) even though I'm almost completely sure you will not see it. This goes back to my previous point – either Temari is written as an overly emotional, bashful woman who has no sense of being tough, or the complete opposite where she's now extremely brash and rude. I thoroughly enjoy your portrayal of Temari – I think you have her very on point. She is blunt and to the point, but not by any means heartless or insensitive. She is a reasonable individual in your story, and that honestly just sweeps me off my feet and has me hooked. Same with Shikamaru – I am more so impressed because you have him at a very vulnerable time of his life, but he hasn't turned into Sasuke or Naruto. You have him written wonderfully, even to the part where he has trouble expressing his feelings to Temari. In a good chunk of fanfiction, specifically with Shikamaru, he is portrayed as a some sleazy playboy – we all know that couldn't be farther form the truth, and I'm so glad you didn't make him out be that way, you really have no idea.

As far as story telling goes, it flows absolutely wonderfully – you not only focus on the main characters, but also their situations and other characters around them. I especially loved the interaction with Yoshino and Temari, even tensing up myself and feeling the second hand nervousness. Not only that, but definitely the opening scene with Shikaku and his son – we really see just how far Shikamaru is willing to do anything it takes to become absolutely stronger and better, even if it means sacrificing his own sanity and health. You've managed to drive this fic into somewhere pretty dark – not morbid or bloody, but definitely dark in the sense of dealing with your failures. I found myself worrying for Shikamaru, hoping he wouldn't do anything rash, and I even was hoping Temari would give him a good scolding (which is what I'm used to), but it's a nice change of pace when we see these characters dealing with things differently that what you would expect.

If I continue pointing out every good thing about this fic, I won't stop for a few good hours. But this is definitely worth a million reads, and since you still have this up, I am hoping that means there is a chance that you might one day at least look back at how many people thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful piece of fiction. I am sad to see you haven't updated it, but also equally as happy to see that you still have it up. I wish you luck in all your endeavors and just wanted to congratulate you on your phenomenal writing skills.

This isn't a proper review, but I just wanted to express how much I enjoyed this fanfic. Sure there are a few spelling and grammatical mistakes, but besides that I find it extremely well written; smooth, natural, eloquent, and quite entertaining (among other good things). I'm well aware that your story is several years old and that you will probably never read this, however I still felt the need to give my thoughts just in case. I sincerely hope that this wasn't the last of your written works, because you are immensely talented if I do say so myself (which I do).
