Oh my goodness, I loved this! Not many people seem to give John credit when it comes to his boys, so it's always nice to find a fic where he cares about them. Absolutely amazing. :)

So many people write John as a jerk and an uncaring dad, especially when it comes to Sam, but I fully believe John cared and loved both of his boys very much.

This was a wonderful insight in to John's thoughts in this moment and beautifully written.

Wow... that was intense. I liked how you painted John in a good light instead of in a bad light like a lot of other people (myself included) seem to do. It was definitely refreshing to read something outside of the same 'John's an evil bastard' thing and read something where he cares deeply about his sons. Good job.

Nice to see John rushing to save Sam like that. And a good reason for him not to have been in his hotel when hte boys got there. Wonder if they passed each other on the road.

Great job! I love this! I had been wanting to read a pilot fic from John's pov when he hears about the fire at Sam's apartment. Its so heartbreaking when John thinks he failed to keep his youngest safe. Then he gets relief in the form of a phone call from his oldest. Great job with this story!

wow, yeah it was short, but it was perfect. there was a lot of emotion and it was so good to see Johns point on this one. I have not seen a story out there like this one. A lot of people put john down, so I think this one really does him justice.

Very nice POV of John showing he cares about both his sons even if they had a rocky relationship.

Wow, pretty awesome. John's brokenness, when he thought Sam was dead was awful but also in a way refreshing. It brought out the love he feels for his youngest boy. OMG, I could just picture these events happening on the show as I read your story! I could totally see the devastation on John's face at thinking that his had also lost his youngest to the demon that took his wife. Mercy, what a heartbreaking oneshot to read. Thank goodness, Dean had left the message that Sammy was alive so that john could know his son was alright!

It's wonderful. Something I'd have like to have seen more of on the show.

I LOVED this and really hope John would try to save Sam if he knew what was going to happen because that man loved his boys, no matter how flawed he was.
