Ellenore Carter chapter 5 . 12/23/2010 I love them all, there all so cute. They made me cry... but its ok I cry all the time, beautiful stories |
Dorryen Golde chapter 1 . 4/28/2010 Well, shoot. I had meant to say this in my earlier review, but I forgot, having just gone mad with delight after reading "Leather Coat." Anyway, I just wanted to tell you the best, most amazing line, the one that impressed me most in "Ode to Melancholy" was "Mr T?" the doubt said. Amazing. Not just the masterful transition from Sweeney's incoherent, insane thoughts to reality (embodied by Mrs. Lovett), but you referred to her as DOUBT. Pure genius. Okay, I'm done. |
Dorryen Golde chapter 5 . 4/28/2010 Oh! It's you! I didn't realize you were the author of "While You Weren't Looking" (which, by the way, you should update soon) until I clicked on your profile to find more fics like this one. I'm not usually one for angsty one-shots, since the whole reason I entered this fandom in the first place was to get away from all that angst. And oneshots are usually so short, so dissatisfying. Your one-shots (I especially like "Of Alcohol and Inventions" and "Leather Coat," though you did an amazing job with "Mania") are simply delightful, if not completely satisfying (you'll have to finish that lovely multi-chaptered fic mentioned above to accomplish that). I really, really, really love the way you portray the romance (?) between Mr. Todd and Mrs. Lovett. Somehow the image of him standing frozen, somewhat shocked, and almost-but-not-quite indifferent in the face of Mrs. Lovett's "clumsy advances"-as you so adequately called them-really appeals to me. Much more "romantic" and delightful than, say, a passionate makeout session that would be completely uncharacteristic of the couple involved. On a final note, I loved the way you described Mr. Todd and Mrs. Lovett as "a pair of wildcats-he stalking and she sauntering". I couldn't have worded my mental image of the two more perfectly; it reminds of a line in someone else's fic, something like "they stood there, beautiful demons, lean and wild and dangerous". Especially when they're walking in the marketplace together-Tim Burton said he wanted to depict the sort of odd, abnormal pair in which Mrs. Lovett is Mr. Todd's female counterpart, slightly more droll but just as insane. I think he definitely suceeded, just as you have here. Good work! |

AngelofDarkness1605 chapter 5 . 7/21/2008 Sorry that I'm a bit late :) I love this chapter. It's so nice to read how Mrs. Lovett just kisses him because she can't resist to find out how it'll be and how he'll react. *hopes for more chapters* |
Alpha Bravo Charlie chapter 5 . 7/20/2008 Ah, I loved this chapter! Especially the part about how they "walked through St Dunstan’s market like a pair of wildcats—he stalking and she sauntering." That was bloody brilliant! They really are perfect together, aren't they? I love the description you put into your writing, by the way. :) |
Obscure Bird chapter 5 . 7/19/2008 I love the detail in this, how you can fill in so much of... Hell, everything, and still make the words flow. It really is incredible. |

AngelofDarkness1605 chapter 3 . 6/8/2008 OMG, this is an amazing chapter. "You spilled the gin" Aw, poor Mrs. Lovett, but the ending is very hopeful! Is this a one shot or will the next chapter be a sequel to this one? Anyway, I hope you'll write more soon! |
Lady Nuit chapter 3 . 6/3/2008 Poor LOL! I would die of embarrasment! good and surprising ending. KEEP WRITING |

AngelofDarkness1605 chapter 2 . 5/30/2008 Wow, this is so good, especially the last stanza. Simply amazing, very clever indeed. I never had thought about Mrs. Lovett's death that way, but it really makes sense and it is very much like her. |
Obscure Bird chapter 2 . 5/29/2008 Whoa. A bit creepy, but fittingly so, and very well written. |
