This is a view of Inara that rarely gets an airing, of the steel inside. And Mal's comment that she might have been one of those walked out of Serenity Valley? It gave me the chills ...

Well... I love this scene, and it's only done with eye contact but it speaks volumes about Inara’s feelings and the effect they have on Mal. And it reminds the viewer that although he spent the night with Nandi and Inara was hurt, it doesn't really have anything to do with his feelings for Inara, they haven't changed.

I love what you did with this; although I'm fair certain Mal is glad Inara wasn't in that Valley with them.

Yeah, Inara's tough... and given her line of work, she'd better be able to handle herself! Nice writing! (BTW, it's nice that you always write back to your reviewers... makes the reader feel appreciated!)
