I love this story. John is so canon and AU at the same time. It's a darker more provoking atlantis then the show, and I love it.

Very well written. The words lyrical and perfect.

Simply gorgeous. The poetic-prose style isn't one that normally works well with John's character, but here it just -fits-. You don't feel every heartbeat and moment he's in the cell (and truthfully, that wouldn't work in this context), but you do feel the essence of it. Very well done. (I'm also a sucker for both season one and friendship fic, so of course I love that aspect. Throw in Atlantis characterization and you've got me.) Also, though there is generally little OC love in whatever fandom, congrats on your development of Markus. The greatest mark of a character isn't just dimensionality, but that the reader feels something for them; and in this case, both were true.

Lovely, and very well written all around. Can't wait for the next part.
