It only means that he's finally found the way to look at himself without any guilt or regret, and see his true worth the way others see it in him.

Oooohhhh, now we see it all. Oh my, I love this. So that's what his words meant. Ha, at first I didn't notice that. But after you mentioned it, I listened to the movie clip again and PING! It finally clicked. The tone (with a hidden message) was there! Nice fic, very nice! True, it's Edmund's time to shine. But he must take it without any hesitation or regret when it comes. All on his own, not backing out no matter what those people say about him and his past. As DR. Seuss says, "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

Oh, you have done a very good job, IMHO. :) I mean, reading this fic, we finally understand where Edmund was coming from when he said what he did to Miraz in their meeting. And in doing so, has fully convinced him to the duel with the High King. You are so right, doesn't sound like a difficult task for someone like King, not Prince, Edmund the Just. Haha! Oh, thank you for this! The story behind the remark! Love it. Perfect indeed.

And by the way, when his other siblings seemed to take no notice of how hurt he was with all the 'prince' remarks, I was geting quite anoyed myself. Only when Lucy and the others explained their purpose to him did I completely understand the meaning of that. True though, it is also up to Ed. To stand for himself to all of those who haven't seen passed his treachery (like that not-so-subtle man),, and show them just who he truly is, what he can do, and what he's all about as a real, devoted king. And I'm glad he's helping the other ones as well, like that Minotaur Maxus! Really smart and excellent plan deviced by Lu, Pete and Susan; 'twas just the right move to take. And a terrificly awesome Narnia piece this truly is!
