The coach had yelled at him once at a game and had gotten nothing in return but a cold, green stare that froze the blood in his veins. The kid looked dead that blank look he had gotten once when he had bellowed at him, almost made him lose his composure. It was as if the kid had shut down, his eyes glazing. It was after this incident Gibbs started with the head slaps instead. He had gotten a healthy reaction out of those.

The yelling reminded him of his father. So he just did what he did when his father yelled at him.

Tony loyalty or standing up for the little guy got him in trouble it seems.

He wasn't going to reveal the real Tony. The one with all the built up anger and frustration. He had a feeling he wouldn't be well liked.

His father had taught him many things. To never flinch when taking a punch and to smile when tears threatened. To hide his emotions so they wouldn't be used against him.

Tony had learnt it well. Maybe that's why he jokes/joked around so much before.

Great Tony-study.

Though I've read all three chapters I really liked the first one. I loved the parallel between the coach and Gibbs, two men who worried about Tony but where the coach ultimately failed Gibbs succeeded.

I liked it. I especially liked the way you used his Coach as a contrast to Gibbs. Good work!
