Holy. Crap. I heard about this fic on a discord server that I'm in just a few days ago and might I say? I am not disappointed in the slightest. Ngl, I've been reading it almost nonstop ever since. Your style is absolutely amazing! I love how you've developed the relationship between these two while still keeping them in character and who would've thought that would be possible in a master/slave sort of au(?)? Wow!

Also, poor Tails. And Knuckles. They need a vacation. For a year.

Oh my gosh, I can't believe it's finally finished! I've been following this fic for six years (this fic was actually the first major fic I ever read), and I loved every word of it! Thank you so much for completing this!

This is exactly what I wanted. Loved every second of this story. Perfect start. Perfect middle. Perfect ending. I'm certainly re-reading this in years to come. 3

Okay, so I've read this fic since... like 4? 5 years ago? At that time, I was still new in the sonic fandom, and I gotta say, THIS is what got me hooked deeper into the fandom! Your plot, flow, characterization, humor, sarcasm, and EVERYTHING is beautifully perfect, dare I say: addictive. I can't count the time that this story (and its humor) got me laughing even on a bad day, cheering me up with the adrenaline from (very detailed and nicely done!) battle scene! Also the times it made me blush or sobs...ah, sometimes I wish I could put this on Guiness world record for the best, perfectly done fanfiction. It feels rather...bittersweet to read that 'fin' word. So many memories, I'm sad but feel so overwhelmingly happy at the same time :'D

I came back from time to time, delighted with every single chapter posted and I've seem to have unconcciously implanted the thought that this would last forever. But alas, every story must have an ending, and I'm at least very happy I've lived to read how it ends :) This 5 years has been a wonderful ride for me (and a rollercoaster of emotionadrenaline, haha), I'm actually tearing up when I found out that it's time for me to say goodbye from the constant "hey, it's been a long time, maybe I should check the update" routine. This fic accompanied me growing up, but welp, guess it's time for me to re-read their adventure again from the beginning. I seem to never bore of it, truly an awesome fic. Thank you sooo much for writing this marvelous story! I hope you're living a healthy and happy life, I am ultimately grateful for your 12 years effort in this fic 3

Hooo boy. Sorry I’m only reviewing 3 months later! I haven’t been reading anything on here since I’ve just been pretty busy, now due to the current state of the world I have nothing but time and fanfic at my disposal! I literally got SO excited when I saw this was among the fics that have been updated while I’ve been away. It’s also bittersweet; I don’t want it to end D:

Watching royal!Sonic and Shadow fend for themselves was quite amazing to read, to be honest. I actually got pretty nervous there at the beginning seeing how badly they were doing, but obviously they managed to pull it off, and it was just so nice to see how they’ve developed as characters throughout this fic. While canon!Sonic and Shadow were the main stars, the alternates had quite the arcs themselves. Shadow going from a cold king with his pleasure slave to a noble leader who treats said slave - and hopefully all “slaves” in his dimension - as an equal and Sonic going from defenceless, mindless victim to a free spirit with a developing sense of self-worth makes me a bit proud :’) if canon!Sonic and Shadow ever question whether they actually saved anyone from that dimension or not, they should definitely take into account the impact they’ve had on their doppelgangers. There is undoubtedly room for improvement and getting used to on their part but in the end, I think that dimension is gonna be just fine under their reign :) a beautiful wrap on this storyline.

Also, random thought I don’t think I’ve mentioned before, but I actually really enjoy the way you write Scourge in particular. His arrogance and cockiness isn’t necessarily annoying here, it’s intriguing and you kinda love to read him antagonize the main characters yet it’s still so satisfying when he gets his butt kicked. You’ve definitely made him out to be an interesting villain and I’d like to read more of the way you write him in the future; maybe you’ll have another reason to make him the cocky villain again in one of your fics? Something about the way you’ve written him throughout the whole story makes me want more of him xD

And finally, the wind-down. I love reading Shadow and Sonic in action, but my favourite moments are when they’re alone with nothing but each other. As stated over in my review on the Extras fic, peace is a rarity for them and you can tell they soak up every moment of it together.

Sonic keeping the collar as a bracelet is a VERY nice touch. The collar had always represented something beautiful in this fic. Maybe to an outsider keeping the collar is a bit weird considering wearing it pretty much stripped Sonic of all his basic human rights and he should hate it, but it will always be something just Sonic and Shadow understand and that’s all it needs to be. I’m glad it’s hidden now, so only they know it’s there. I just love the detail of both of them knowing a symbol of their love is always right there on Sonic’s wrist, of Shadow unconsciously toying with it while they’re snuggled up together and the comfort it brings them :)

I’m definitely not expecting a sequel or anything (I would probably lose my mind out of excitement though not gonna lie) but I’d love to see the small adaptations you mentioned coming from this universe in the future :) can’t wait to read those when you eventually write them. No pressure, but I’m also hoping this won’t be the last of your Sonadow fics. I can’t help it, I just love the way you write them so much!

Okay so I'm new to the Sonic fandom (yes 2020 what a year) and because it's a fairly old niche of the Internet I imagined there would be good material here instead of in ao3, and I found this fic... And I'd never have thought it has been in progress for 12 years! 400k words in the making since 2008 and the result is a wonderfully written story where everyone is amazingly in character and every sub plot is perfectly closed... Not only the shippy parts (which i LOVED I was melting all the time during sonadow scenes) but everything is so cohesive. This is a wonder and I'm so happy that you took the time and had the unbelievable perseverance to avty finish it... You have my uttermost respect and eternal thanks for this!

Okay I just read this whole thing and wow! Like this story is just so beautiful and fun and perfect in a sene?! You managed to create an engaging adventure story with heart, humor, romance, friendship and heroism, you captured the characters wonderfully and created beautiful and engaging interactions! I’m so happy I decided too read this, I’m not generally an AU person but you made this work wonderfully and mix AU stuff with cannon in a nice blend! All the interactions between Sonic and Tails, Kunx and Rouge, Sonic and Amy, Shadow and Rouge and all the other interactions besides Shads and Sonic helped the story feel perfectly realistic and fun!
