Phenomenal... I was supposed to go to sleep two hours ago but simply couldn’t put this down.
princessbinas chapter 1 . 10/3/2018
Normally I avoid stories that involves torture, but this one was not gore for the sake of gore. I find the concept very original, which is good. I wish more stories would drip down information.

As for the details, I knew something was fishy when Inuyasha began losing his powers. I was just not not sure if it was Naraku or the jewel trapping Inuyasha in a fake world like it did to Kagome.

I definitely cried while reading this story. This story definitely captures the worst kind of hell anyone could suffer in terms of what we can comprehend.

Wow. My mind has imploded at how everything fell into place at the end. I'm speechless. Just... wow.

It has been a long time since I was genuinely drawn into a fanfiction so completely. I know this was completed years ago, but I feel like it deserves more reviews and attention, so I'm going to review it anyway.

Let me start by saying that I don't read InuyashaxKagome pairing fanfictions but once in a hundred blue moons. I found this under Forthright's favorites, and I'm very glad I read it anyway.

In the beginning I noticed small things that were odd. This impression kind of grew but, to be honest, I chalked it up to just writing quality at first. For example, the way that Hojou and Kagome's friends treated Inuyasha, knowing he was a half demon despite it being mentioned repeatedly that humans don't know about demons. That really bothered me, especially since Hojou highly resembled the Hojou I used to see in older fanfiction, where the author would bash him. But then that confrontation (Which seemed really random and strange at the time) happened, and I realized something wasn't right when he sounded exactly like Kouga. The crane I thought might end up being another demon, or something.
I also found the insert of the violent and graphic torture that Inuyasha watched on television very odd, a sudden and strange tone-change that didn't seem to fit with the tone of the story. I was absorbed in his problems, with his demonic heritage disappearing and his memory lapses, and I really didn't consider that something was so strange or horrible until a good chuck into the story.

Even then, I didn't expect quite so much! I continued because it was interesting. I wanted to see where you would go with it. And when thing started just falling into place, it was amazing! Things I had figured were just strange little things - like the violent TV, or Souta's continuing obsession over games even as he grew older - suddenly made sense or were hints to things that had been happening the whole time. Being able to have so many things fall together so well, and so satisfyingly, is such a difficult thing to do! And to do it in a way where I, at least, didn't really see coming and still makes sense is so much better.

I wish the ending had been a little longer, a little more explained. I know how some authors like to leave things to the imagination, but I prefer to know what happens, even if you just add in your own canon ending in with the end notes. It leaves me feeling a little bit unresolved that way, because while I know that it's likely Naraku was then defeated, I have absolutely no idea, not even really a clue, as to what happens after that.

Still, I very much enjoyed this! I loved how it all came together, and I loved how you wrote most of them, especially Inuyasha and Kagome! I can see the hard work that went into it, and I hope other people find this even if you've long forgotten it!

This story was posted a LONG time ago. I'm shocked I never came across it - I've plumbed the great depths of this website for years searching for all the best fanfictions. Stories that held up to novels written by published professionals. Stories that moved me to profundity that can't be put into words. I feel so lucky to have *finally* come across this story. This review won't do it the justice it deserves, but let me be plain: it was so well-written, so well thought out, so true to the characters. Your pacing was incredible. From part "1", I was hooked on this kind of aching and longing for something. I feel as though we experience Inuyasha's confusion with him, his anguish, his slow discovery. There were enough hints, but it wasn't so overt that the ending didn't surprise me. It saddens me that Inuyasha killed Kagome and suffered such torture at the hands of Naraku, but this story also has great pay-off in the end. I'm so happy they ended up together in this pure, light space. They really did get eternity (probably the only way they could've, had they survived). Thanks for such an amazing story.

My lord. I don't even know how to begin with this review so essentially it's going to come out as a whole bunch of rambling gibberish.
This is possibly one of the best fanfictions I have ever read, I'm going to be honest here and say I enjoyed it more than some /books/ I've read.
In the beginning I knew /something/ was up, because Kagome was always in her uniform or reading her schoolbooks, but I was really confused as to what was actually going on. I was kind of guessing that we were in InuYashas mind, but I did not guess what was actually going on.
This was just so heartbreaking, but in such a beautiful, well written way, and there were so many lines I wanted to flail about but then it got to be too much, and the review would probably be ten pages long, so I'll just say that my heart was shattered into a million pieces, but in the best way possible and you are a beautiful, beautiful writer.

I'd like to commend you for maintaining a flow to the story that hinted at the distorted and fragmented aspect of Inuyasha's "reality" - or shall we say, the reality Byakuya so graciously granted him. I knew from day 1 that something was definitely off and that kept me curious! (Also, at first I had no idea what the numbers separating each section meant but everything really makes sense in the end! By the second half of the story, everything just started falling into place and you could kind of guess what was really happening.)

I think I'm still reeling from finishing this story so I can't properly articulate my thoughts, but I hope you do know this was plenty enjoyable! It's getting harder to come by well-written stories with an interesting plot and a realistic ending - if not a totally HAPPY ending. Well done!

started questioning about when souta was going to get a job and move out... the reoccurring swan... "persist"... but this is an extreme psychological thriller. i liked how you left the outcome to us... my imagination says that the jewel destroys naraku and is absorbed between the group spitting them back into reality, all with new youkai/god (since that was naraku's wish) like bodies where they'll live happily ever after (because i require the happy). i was searching through archives looking for something good to read and found this! \o/

an anime/manga recommendation:
if you've never seen/read/heard of 'rurouni kenshin' i would like to recommend it. they've made a new live action movie that has been released internationally and it is really great (a live action adaptation of an anime series done right) and they've finished filming two more live action sequel movies that follow the next arc of the manga (to be released late this summer/early autumn)... they've released a new OVA series and a brand new/different manga story that the movie is partially based on.

if you copy/paste the following codes in the youtube search engine you can see a few of the trailers :

90ubrsSxrKc -subbed trailer.

yaLOPVAuJs4 -raw character profile trailers.

PvmcNKM-jEo -subbed first episode of the anime.

8qRFhP5PhMk -live action depiction of the dojo fight scene in the above episode.

a7HrF77Ewkg -the sneak preview for the next two sequel movies (the second option listed is subbed).

bAgmfGZbVrQ -the first official trailer for the sequel movies (subbed)

NCei4Vm1ZP8 -the latest trailer (subbed)
enjoy!

a pleasure,

Where do I begin?

This was such an amazing story. I feel my mind is still being fucked... And oh my, I never imagined I would like the feeling. How you were able to scheme such a thing I'll never know. This is by far crème de la crème, one of the most beautifully written stories ever told.

And the way you ended it... it was just brilliant. So many things make sense now, like InuYasha watching torture scenes on tv so intently. And the fact that Kikyo did not bleed out, but crumbled to pieces like her namesake. And the bird. Oh my, the crane was a master's touch.

Persist. Endure. Hold on.

InuYasha lived a lifetime in 30 days. A month of torture. Of being fed friends, of being turned useless. He persisted. He endured. He hold on to every little piece of memory he had, so he could make new ones.

You wrote a magnificent tale that I shall never forget. Now excuse me, for it's over 4 AM and I need to read some fluff before I even think of sleeping.

Thank you so much for sharing this.
