Just noticed the date on the last update for this. So ignore the previous review detailing the problems with this story's forerunners.

The Master Chief is 3 meters tall, the entry room to the AI facility would've been tiny for its purpose. You can't really be suggesting that a simple software patch is what Cortana needed to correct her failing system indefinitely. Producing a forerunner crystal core, yes, software patch, no.

The forerunners used zero-point energy, destroying proto universes and drawing power from that. They also stored this energy in various ways for use in portable equipment. Miniature suns captured inside a rifle? More trouble than its worth for obvious reasons, if you can even sustain a sun at that tiny of a mass.

The forerunners weren't human, and were not allies of ancient humanity.

Amazing story? Please don't let it become one of the amazing and abandoned stories. Please?

This a very enjoyable story with an interesting crossovers and I look forward to what happens next and how first contact with each other will play out.
