Amarintha chapter 1 . 7/3/2008 well you need the beta. Typos...ouch. 'you're' in place of 'your'. Sorry. OCD over with. I'm fighting it. Hard. not easy *twitch* No, I'm good. I..you're reading Deliverance, at some point I mention the Social Services getting ahold of the boys, and my mother professional works as a Guardian Ad-Litem -which I can easily explain, but I know a LOT about this, and the legal proceedings and the kind of work that goes in, and who talks to who in a case, and all the kind of stuff. :3 And she hates CPS... hates them because as a rule they're stupid. I have horror stories. But I like this idea. John was well done, Murphy was believable sort of -but like I said, I know way too much about that, so he was well done. Dean ...yeah, good. Sam, too. So, I liked it. Happy to beta the next part. :3 |
Kalira of the flames chapter 1 . 6/22/2008 I enjoyed this as a stand alone one shot but thinking about it after reading the author's note it would be very interesting if Murphy saw the Winchesters a few years later and possibly learned the reasons for their strange lifestyle. The only problem I had with the story is that the boys ages aren't really stated but in the long run the ambiguity didn't effect the overall quality of the story. I like reading fics around the boys' childhood that show outsider's perspectives since the boys (especially Dean, since I'm sure he made sure Sam was pristine and well taken care of) really do exhibit all the signs of abuse. Aside from the physical injuries it really is abuse in Dean's case. Although there's no doubt John cares about his boys he is very single-minded and has a lot of blind spots when it comes to his children. The strain he puts Dean under could definitely qualify as verbal and mental abuse which only Sam seems to recognize as he grows older. It was very unexpected that Sam's classroom was held up; it was a great twist to show what Murphy what Dean's true personality is. I feel like even if it wasn't supernaturally related Dean still would have intervened. He was definitely born a hero. This was a great character study of Dean and I would like to read more if you decide to continue. |
DeansBabyBird chapter 1 . 6/16/2008 Sushi chi Hey Hun you have been so kind reviewing my stories that I felt i should drop by some of yours so as I’m on a weeks leave in France (Normandy – very beautiful!) I’m reading and reviewing! This is an interesting fic. I love smart mouth Dean and his interaction with the ‘authorities’. He is old beyond his years in most ways isn’t he and you have captured him very well. Sam’s cute as a youngster and your observation that it is Sam who will keep Dean from becoming a black serial killer is well made. Liked it. Thanks for sharing. Bev xx |
PhoenixDragonDreamer chapter 1 . 5/5/2008 That was utterly fantastic dear! And yes, please do write more and let us see Murphy again! Hopefully he can get the Winchesters out of a bind someday... *smishes* Mandy |
PADavis chapter 1 . 5/3/2008 I love stories with child protective services involved, not really sure why - probably the angst of having the family separated. Loved Dean running all the answers together. If you write more with the character, I would certainly read it. I always try to review, and I know how many folks out there don't, but I'm never sure if I should if the author threatens not to write anymore if they don't get them. Notice you didn't do that with Sweet Charade, thanks! I may never ask you about alcoholic beverages, but I do love Pratchett and Gaiman. Phoebe |
burnmedown chapter 1 . 5/1/2008 I like your plot, and the character of Murphy is very interesting. I would like to read more by you! Also, if you need someone to help with your grammar and spelling in the future, just send me an e-mail - I'd be happy to help with that. One friendly tip: it isn't a good idea to threaten or beg in order to get reviews. It tends to have the opposite effect; a lot of people don't like it, and therefore won't review. Just so you know. |
Chainsaw Tactics chapter 1 . 4/30/2008 Sushi... Sushi that was awesome. *awed* I want more. Please? Pretty please? Pretty please with whipped cream and sprinkles and chocolate sauce and a cherry on top? |
rogueskywalker chapter 1 . 4/30/2008 Awee, that was a great fic! I don't often read the light hearted side of the Winchesters fandom, but this I couldn't resist! Very well done! ) |
