Oh I loved this! It was beautifully written, and the tempo was perfect from Stella's walk across the grass to the moment of realisation they share. Just lovely. Some beautiful descriptions of the frost and 'their breaths mingling in the cold air around them.' It was bitter-sweet as Mac described his thoughts about frost, winter and chances, and then such a joyful ending as they realise that there are chances. Their conversation and care for each other you captured perfectly in the gestures and dialogue as Stella sits by Mac. It was exactly right. Thank you, I enjoyed it so much.
