ScarletWraith chapter 12 . 7/6
You do realize this is the same chapter as 11?
mumphie chapter 14 . 6/18
I realized that H & H never got their staves. What wondrous things could they have done with them
mumphie chapter 15 . 6/18
I enjoyed the story, but was sad that you threw in the towel. I appreciate the run down, though. It helped. Perhaps now that a decade has passed, you could find the words that were needed to flesh this out to completion?..."It could happen." ;)

This is a repost of Chapter 11

I think understand now a bit better why you might have abandoned this installment. Where the first was fairly light, with rapid pacing and limited shifts in POV, this installment has drawn out the pacing while using numerous POV shifts to manage many unrelated (yet) plot threads.

The story became too complicated, too fast, and you ended up writing yourself into several corners that you had trouble finding ways out of. While the darker tone is not necessarily bad, in itself, for many (and I am certainly one) it makes the story that much more difficult to remain engaged with and I cannot help wondering whether that same influence may have affected your attempts to continue the story.

I hope someone may take up the original storyline but, perhaps, trim back the darker and more complex parts which seem to be an achor on this installment.

What went before was certainly excellent and, even though there are only nine more posted chapters, this is where I must stop to look elsewhere for something more engaging.

I would be lying if I didn't say I was sorry to see this end here. OTOH, I must give you credit for stating that fact clearly, both here and in the story-level Description text. Too many stories seem to stop posting without any notice at all, simply languishing in what I like to call "In(de)finite Hiatus."

About the only things I would change here would be to remove the "Complete" flag (since having it set is at best misleading), to remove the headnote in this final chapter which claims that you plan to continue posting after a hiatus (since that particular note has obviously been "Obsoleted By Events") and to formally (in the endnote of this final chapter) offer the story line up for adoption by other authors.

Though the latter option doesn't get taken up very often, you've nothing to lose by formally making the offer. I've seen a couple of "adopted" stories followed through rather well, with one of the better examples of successful story adoption being when Dunuelos picked up and greatly (in both senses) extended the "Lone Traveler" stories begun by The Professional. ;-)

Man honestly!
It was a great story...Great storyline everything. ...how could you leave it?
It would be really great if u continue the story...

But anyways , writer's block IS dreadful, I can tell u from first-hand experience...but, unlike me , u came this far , and it takes a great courage...

PS If u like, I would like to continue the story, with your help, of course...
Frankly telling, I don't think I can manage it alonethank u laziness)...

So, we could continue the story together and hopefully put together a
smashing story!
Just think on it...2 people writing a story helps a lot , n keeps away writer's block.
Just think on the idea, and let me know...

Not truly complete
Jake Crepeau chapter 8 . 6/23/2018
Ron's change, genuine? Please. His apologies to Harry in the previous story sounded genuine enough; then he finally admitted he had been using both Harry and Hermione all along. In this story, Ron is the consummate Slytherin. I bet that, like Harry, he talked the Hat into not putting him in Slytherin, but for much different reasons. No takers here!
Jake Crepeau chapter 6 . 6/23/2018
Am I seeing a plot hole here? In the first story of this set, Hermione pointed out that, since their Animagus forms are coyotes, they could tell if someone was under Polyjuice. They should have identified Malfoy immediately on the train.
.
The other possible hole is, even under Polyjuice, he still has the Dark Mark, and the magic of the ward should have sensed it and blocked his entry...unless this new version of Polyjuice also hides the magic of the Mark.
.
Red Death. That's what people in the US used to call the Communists during the Cold War. If you're doing what I think you're doing here, I like where you're coming from.
Jake Crepeau chapter 5 . 6/23/2018
Brownie points for the inspiration for the chapter title? What chapter title? I have yet to see a chapter title anywhere in this story.
Jake Crepeau chapter 3 . 6/23/2018
Taking someone from England and dumping him in Atlanta, Georgia, is just plain cruel. Moving to the South from New York was bad enough; for someone from England, who spends most of his year in the north-central region of Scotland, sudden climate change combined with unaccustomed physical activity could very well be deadly.

It's just the sort of hardship Ron needs! ;D
