I'm knida binge reading on Escaflowne fics. Yours is one of those stories I read earlier but keep coming back to re-read. As other reviewers have said, thanks for your story and hope you may get back to writing!

It is very well written and the mystery makes it more interesting to read.

How I wish, wish, WISH this story had been finished! This is my all-time favourite Esca fanfic. The characterizations are wonderful, and I love how both Van and Hitomi have matured. It all seems very realistic (for a fictional story lol) and I love how the plot continues to evolve. My only complaint is that it was never continued. But I understand that life happens, and I just wanted to thank the author for writing such an amazing story. All the best!

Though it pains me greatly to see that this fic has not been updated in over two years, and that the possibility of you ever continuing it, let alone finishing it, is very unlikely, I'd like to thank you so much for write this much of it. I fell in love with the anime and movie when I was a teenager. More than ten years have passed and I rewatch this series with different eyes now, changed from my experiences in life. I love reading VH stories, but this one has touched me in a way that none of the others have, and I believe it is because it is so much more realistic and mature. I feel a kinship with the characters in your story as much as I felt when I first watched this series. I almost feel like I've grown with them, seeing how everyone has matured. And though my heart yearns to read/know more about this wonderful and beautiful story you have brought to life, I know how difficult it is to come back to a story after so many years, and that it is just no longer in you to write more on it. This review isn't necessarily a plea that you would come back to this fic and update/finish it, though if you did I wouldn't complain. But rather, I just sincerely and genuinely wanted to thank you for the wonderful time I was able to spend in this amazing world you had constructed.

You're building a simple but beautiful plot here. It's angst enough for the romantics and realistic enough for the jaded. I'd love to see where this goes. It is my sincere wish that this story will not be abandoned. It's simply too good. I hope that you will find the commitment time and the inspiration to complete what is shaping up so far to be one of the best continuation fics in this fandom. :)

Please update soon! I'm dying to know whar happens next! And it's been 10 chapters and there is yet to have a real Hitomi x Van moment... it just makes the wait all the better xD Haha! Btw, hope you haven't abandoned this story, it's been over a year already and there is still no update... i don't mind waiting but if you have abandoned this fic please indicate so :(

I love this story and was incredibly disappointed when it stopped at chapter 10 and I realized it hasn't been update for over a year. I do hope you will finish this story. :)

oooh and i gotta admit making van have long hair...pure genius. I'm a sucker for guys with long hair. I could just imagine him a sword fight *swoon*. This story is great. The only thing i can think about to say to make it better is more descriptions of long haired Van! You've done a terrific job.

hmmm I really like your take on the Van x Hitomi story. It's very realistically done. Your OCs are quite amusing, especially Sir Francis. And yes, I suppose Van is "the most unobservant man alive".

One question: when did Hitomi say anything about wanting some 'damned ruby slippers'?
