Whoboy! Kadaj is not tame at all. It's going to take a lot to humanize him, which is the point of all the rest of the stories you've written. The degree to which Yazoo had to shut down in order to calm Kadaj a bit and ensure his and Loz's safety is incredible to think about. Very often in these fanfics I can recognize people I've known or had something to do with, but this degree of fear and anger and obsession is beyond my direct ken. Still, I know people are capable of anything, and people like Yazoo and Loz that cope with it however they can. It's gonna take a resurrection to make it possible for them to live with some kind of dignity-and I think I see one in their future ('cause I've already read ahead!) This is a scarey story. I would not have been able to read it any earlier than I did-and I don't want to dwell here. But-I am not sorry to have read it because it makes their redemption even more sweet. They had SO far to go. And it fleshes out the connection they have to Cloud, too, which is welcome. Thanks for this. It wasn't fun, but grown ups aren't supposed to mind, I guess...(sigh) mc

Poor Yazoo. That was his first time and last time with a girl ! ;) Just as well, really, he belongs to Reno after all. Great story of course, that I read several times and for some reasons, never reviewed. Great introduction to "the beginning of the end" together with Eromenos.

For some sick reasons, I suddently thought of the 3 bears while reading chapter 5 I think, picturing them in each their beds and I had a good laugh.

This makes me so happy, especially because I just re-watched Advent Children. Our little remnants really are people, aren't they? I can't decide if I feel more sorry for Yazoo or Kadaj, but you write them both beautifully!

When I watched Advent Children, I found the Remnants, well, irritating. Especially Yazoo, his voice drove me mad. Reading this has made me fall in love with all of them. You've given one-dimensional place holders for Sephiroth real depth and character. Kadaj's desperate need for affection and Yazoo's struggle to have something for himself are heartbreaking, especially when the one consumes the other.

I'm off to read the sequel. :)

I'm not sure how I was supposed to interpret this, but the feeling I got was this happened just after they escaped and definitely before AC. Because Yazoo was certainly distant by then. Am I to assume that this perhaps was what shaped his apathy?
