This is such a beautiful portrayal of the James and Severus pairing. It is raw, realistic and completely amazing. The characters are true to their canon selves which is difficult to do with such a rare pairing that unites two people who hate each other in the books. I stumbled upon this fan fiction completely by surprise and decided to read it. I definitely do not regret reading it, I am glad I did. This story made me cry in anger and sadness, but it also made me smile with unrestrained joy. The evolution of their relationship is real and never rushed. The ending made me like this story even more. You are an amazing writer, continue your good work!

This story, it’s just so sad. They had something wonderful, beautiful even, but then one teenager’s stupid mistake destroyed it. I have no doubt that something will happen in the future, maybe a reconciliation or a compromise - maybe even them moving on, leaving it behind - however it is just so sad.

This is a brilliantly written story; nothing seems to be very rushed and there is actual consequences to every action they make (unlike the various fics I have read who rush things till there is no character building whatsoever) and everyone’s reactions are actually believable for their situations. I also love the way you don’t overdo the details but don’t put too little as well.

Overall, I really like this fanfiction - thankyou for writing it!

I love this story so much , it's such a shame that James is just like every other typical English boy. Trash.

Okay, so I would just like to first point out that I have never, and let me repeat, never read this pairing in my life. It always seemed out of the blue, unnecessary, and a little disturbing.

That out of the way, this fucking beautiful.

It's a gritty, realistic portrait of the characters. Snape doesn't suddenly become this beautiful handsome good hearted kind guy, and James doesn't all of a sudden drop the marauders and start practicing the dark arts. The characters stay true to themselves and I love that.

And the way this stayed so close to canon pre-Hogwarts years was perfect. It's so hard to find a story that keeps continuity but still has differences that tell another side.

Amazing job, thank you very much, and I would love to see your writing again one day.
