You are definitely one of my favorite authors, you capture Harm and Mac's personalities so well.

I just wanted to say "WOW". I read alot but don't review much lately. Bur I had to review this story. I really liked the 'one shot' chapter but your epilogue or chapter 2 or whatever you want to call it was just...wow. I completely agree with the other reviewer who reminded me what a complex character Webb is. It's easy to write him as mean and heartless but like Harriet once said, "Just when I think I've got him figured out"...at least, I think it was Harriet. Anyway I digress. I never really warmed up to the idea of Webb and Mac because by then I was just so far gone into shipperdom it was ridiculous, but I must commend you on your writing. And not JUST about Webb but your phrasing is beautiful, and your story made Ham and Mac come alive again as just what they were - flawed, scared humans.

Thank you for sharing your creativity and talent with those of us that want Harm & Mac to live forever, but haven't the tools themselves to make it happen.

Okay, lets get it right out in the open, full confession . . . I 'ship Webb/Mac desperately and passionately, yes yes I know rotten tomatoes for me on this site. With that said I usually hesitate to read post-Sadiq 'shipper fic because those are my favorite episodes and so often my Clay is transformed into something I don't recognize.

Not you. You are obviously so much better than that as a writer. You've some how written a post-ep piece that is completely true to both the feelings of that moment and all of the characters, every single one of them. This could just have easily happened between those three as what did occur, and it feels real. Harm is wonderfully there for Mac just as you know he'd be if she'd only let him, but at the same time he's still Harm still a little more reticent than perhaps he should be, still too quick to jump to a wrong conclusion because he needs not be blindsided. And most importantly for me, you gave us a real Webb, I loved your description of his hesistant kindness of not quite being comfortable with it, and also that dark unpleasantness in his eyes that moment when you're reminded who he is, what he does.

And you're writing is beautiful, measured and descriptive without being overly showy. My favorite line was while Mac was pondering how she felt about the CIA "It seemed to her that bravery stripped of ceremony was only … hell, she didn’t know what to call it." That was so incredibly perfect.

Okay so to sum up, I will from now on be giving all your writing a look and if you handle all your stories with the same deftness and insight you have a fan.

whatever. this chapter warmed my heart. I liked the way you wrote clay, especially because he's such a complex character. some people write him insanely mean and violent, and others make him seem like he just doesn't give a shit. but i enjoyed your passively poetic version a lot :D

Wonderful story, thanks for giving Clay the old heave ho. I was pleased. Now if I can only gouge my eyes out every time I am reminded of any slight love scene between Mac and Webb. *shivers* Ew.
