Snowingroses chapter 1 . 2/24/2013
I like this, it gives me a glance into Dom's world. He suffers too, kind of wish the show had of taken this on. Some of Dom's thoughts about the boys that is. thanks for sharing
sammie28 chapter 1 . 4/29/2010
I'm just working my way through the "Airwolf" archive, and I really loved this story. It's a fabulous insight into the Hawke brothers, and you've made the two very distinct characters. Even better is the insight you provide into Dom, by letting use see his thoughts about the boys. Because of the show's emphasis on Hawke's losses, I sometimes forget that Dom has lost so many people as well, and how you write Dom's thoughts brings that back.
Carol Adams chapter 1 . 7/17/2009
Again I wanted to cry. String...feeling so lost. Dom feeling as if he's already lost the boy. And the both of them dealing with so much loss pains me. I can't believe just how much the boy'd changed. Losing his innocence and becoming this somewhere stuck in between man and boy, someone's and no ones. My heart's breaking just thinking of it.
Enfleurage chapter 1 . 6/28/2009
Not sure why I didn't read this back when it was posted, but I'm glad I went back in the 'archives.'

Very insightful story and I particularly liked your take on String remaking himself into his image of his 'lost' big brother, a String that was wilder and charming and different in his younger days: 'the loud one, the talker, the one who ran fast and hot and short, with an attention span shorter than a piece of macaroni and a way of leaving things everywhere...'

We do see hints and occasional flashes of that person throughout the show and it suits his artistic temperament.

The last lines - 'but if Dom couldn't be with him wherever he went, then he sure as heck would be where String knew he could find him when he wanted to, when he was ready, when he needed to remember who he was, when he needed to learn how to breathe again' - were such a perfect summation of the Dom & String relationship that they brought tears to my eyes.

Thank you for this story.
rainefan chapter 1 . 7/21/2008
This is really good. You can feel Dom's anguish, and see how in the years to come he would do anything to help String.
Ladyhawke 620 chapter 1 . 6/5/2008
Read it before, but it remains one of the most poignant scenes between Dam and String ever. Impressive. Definately bittersweet, but impressive.
Malicean chapter 1 . 4/30/2008
"...now he was trying to follow Sinjin down an invisible path, the one that had taken Sinjin from Dom forever and had spit String back to him, torn in half and desperate to reclaim what he saw as his-not the other half of his own soul, but the other half of his existence-even if it took him through the gates and into the pit."

Great characterisation! Add fifty-plus-words sentences and a general tone as bitter sweet as dark chocolate, and you get my kind of story! Really good work!
Lady Razorsharp chapter 1 . 3/10/2008
Wow. This definitely sounds a lot like a Dominic who wouldn't blink at Hawke asking, "I want you go to Libya." And this is why, this deep love and pride and fear for both Hawke boys...and this is what echoes at the edge of Dom's voice when he says, "You gotta let him go...like I did."

Intriguing look between the lines. Nicely done.
Rachel500 chapter 1 . 3/9/2008
Very nice; touching in parts - loved the idea of String changing slowly letting go of himself and becoming Sinjin.
