I just love it. It is easy to believe Dean would react as he did, and for guilt driven Sam to take it as he did. They are so stubborn. You ended it beautifully.

Oh man. It isn't often that you see them disagreeing this much when there isn't a supernatural force involved. But they both misunderstood enough to say or do the wrong thing and make everything worse and it hurt to see how they distanced themselves over something that wasn't really an issue. They both just thought it was and reacted with what they thought the other person wanted. Most messed up sort of self-deferential treatment they could have come up with. But at least it resolved easily.

Adored this story. It is so believable and totally probable that Dean would freeze at some point when faced with Sam pointing a gun towards him, though in this case for him to duck as the MOTW was about to attack him. The flashback and similarity to the memory of possessed Sam pointing the gun at him and shooting was still haunting him in his subconscious. Could so see how it would affect Sam, though not stopping him from throwing Dean out of the way of the creature and being attacked himself, and him asking to be taken to the hospital was so telling of his feelings. Typical of the boys both reading each other wrong, but at least Sam realised what Dean was really feeling in the hospital and made his way back to the motel room. Perfect the way they reconnected, words were not needed, and just loved the ending.

Perfection.

Alright I'm jumping around here, and sooner or later all 354 (at the time of this review) stories will have a review by me. They may not always be in depth but I'll try for more than cool. :) Enought about me on to the story.

This one has so much emotion in it, so much depth that I didn't want it to end. On one hand I can see how and why you ended it where you did, without them actually saying anything to each other just working it out in their heads. On the other hand I long for those conversations that you do so well. The follow-up could be enormous with a lot of these episodes, you picked an appropriate one to take deeper.

Poor boys! *hugs them* Once again, a story mixed with just the right amount of humor, heartbreak, comfort and brotherly love. Several of my favorite lines: "His shoulder barely twinged now, he'd stopped dosing Sam's coffee with holy water, and was almost on the verge of letting his brother go out by himself for lunch—really, he was." "Try telling that to his feet, which seemed glued to the ground." "His subconscious maybe still had a few issues." "Boots crept into the room, their step and creak different from the soft-soled sneakers the staff wore." And I love the monster being called the Hidebehind! I also love the ending. Great job!

I liked the quiet deliberateness of this one. There wasn't a whole lot of shock and dismay-just split-second misunderstandings and It's-okay-I-can-manage. I liked the subtlety of Dean's "rearrangement" of the room furniture and Sam being so tired he just doesn't care. Nice h/c piece.

Aw. Stupid, stubborn Winchesters! At least they're together and they're okay. Really good one. :D

This was excellent. The misunderstandings between them, the way Sam ran to his brother even though he had thought Dean didn't want to be near him, and especially the way they didn't resolve it verbally, but just let the matter lie-that all made it perfect.
