Well a fine story, but the whole comforter thing is pointless really. If she isn't a death eather who the hell let her take that job..
And the end rushed and a bit dissappointment want to now more.

Perfect! Oh my Gog! This story is very good!

I liked this story for the most part, but despite the status being "complete", a lot of things feel unresolved at the end and the epilogue, where the horcrux hunt and the final battle appears to happen as it does in canon, comes across as both sudden and rushed.

What happened to the not-so-comforting "comforter"? Yes, Harry told the rest of his friends not to talk to her, but we don't hear anything about her after that. The mention of the loss of her job after the war is over, a prison sentence or even the revelation that she either really was a death eater, was imperiused to do Riddle's bidding in her half-assed attempts to "comfort" Hermione, or even that she was somehow related to Umbridge would have brought some closure to that part of the story, I think.

Someone mentioned in another review that we never hear anything about what happened with the death eaters who killed Hermione's parents and tried to kill her. A post-war trial after a concluded investigation or even some measure of revenge on Hermione's part for not only killing her parents and trying to kill her, but for doing it all just to get at Harry would have resolved that issue to one degree or another. Yeah, maybe she's safe and with Harry at the end and maybe getting rid of Voldemort and his minions itself was some sort of cathartic thing for her, but that's not really addressed. It just seems like an overall relieved feeling that the war is over.

For a story that was a pretty personal one for the majority of it, to have it end with no real personal resolution to the introduced conflicts, outside of some exchanged "I love you's", and a general feeling of relief that the war is over, it's a bit of a disappointing end I'm sorry to say.

Wow that story was good. I don't usually enjoy angst like that but you made it really compelling. And the happy finish made it all worth it in the end. They can now spend a lifetime fully healing from all their struggles. Together, as they always should be. Beautiful.

That was beautiful in spite of everything else. Such a good moment, it needed to be short.

A good, though scanty ending. Assuming it was relatively according to canon without the desertion. Could Luna have been a fourth?

Hermione still has to help Harry with his feelings of misplaced guilt.

Mourning and healing are concepts that the 'Comforter' doesn't understand. Nor does Ron either. He just is too short in the empathy department. As do the rest of them.

Thankfully, Harry does. Neville too, but I think she'll not let him in.

In a lot of stories, that would have caused a soul bond and likely killed Voldemort. Glad you avoided that.

Big question is how this will affect the rest of the war.

You started off good, but all the over exaggerated reactions to things and some other aspects of the story were just too unbelievable to read, they didn't seem real and took away from the story as a whole, instead of drawing a reader in every time you read something like the Weasleys who had only met hermiones parents once were bawling their eyes out over their deaths it both loses track of the story as a whole and makes a person think, wait, I wouldn't ever be that upset about someone I just met. Not to mention the cringe fest that was professor mcgonagall tell Harry hermione had to watch her parents get tortured... I mean come on, really? "She had to watch her parents get tortured for an hour" "No!" Stands up dramatically* it just makes you look like a fool and take away from the overall effect you were trying to create in a situation that was fairly obvious two sentences after we learned the grangers were attacked, of course they were tortured they were muggles, it's common sense and cliche

Seriously, "Draco didn't really say anything"? He said it was a pity the mudblood survived when her mom and dad died; he sounded for all the world like he was involved in the group that attacked her, if not the attack itself. How is that nothing? I get that Hogwarts doesn't exactly bother to defend its students, but why should that make Harry incapable of defending himself?

... yeah, Healer Kerrie is so fired, especially after the earlier incident with Ron. Seriously, what the heck was she thinking? I get that Harry would be a pushover when it comes to the Weasleys, but a medical professional really ought to know better.
