Numbly, Shindou took it, and stood up.

Isumi stood up as well. "I'll see you two out," he said. At the door, he bowed apologetically to Shindou. "I apologise if Yang Hai and I have offended in any way," he said in his soft, kind voice. "I can see that Sai was very important to you." His eyes were penetrating.

Shindou thought of the game he had played with this strange, fake 'Sai'. Despite intellectually knowing that it was only a computer program, he had wanted it to be real. It was hard to remember that the Sai he saw in the game was a mere memory, a mere combination of kifu. And in the end, when he won the game, there was only emptiness.

In the car, he cried.

This. My God. That was just brilliant. I started crying as soon as I read that last line. Immediately. And hard. That was just so goddamn beautiful I could feel the emotion locked in Hikaru just break free and shatter. (Sai... why are you not here?)

Please, feel more than free to add another brilliant piece to the fandom. It was mind-blowingly awesome. I despised the selfishness of Waya and Isumi but it made the fic even better.

I really like how the story's mood was set up. Nothing too dramatic and it feels realistic on how the situation was handled. My only complaint? It needs to be broke up into several chapters. This long one-shot just killed my brain. X_X

Loved it! All the little things like the image of that hilarious fridge, the shift of POV's, the rather modern way in which you portray things, the narrative technique. I also liked how the rather irregular plot of the story unfolded, as if it were a unique game of go, stones arranged in a lovely unpredictable pattern. I couldn't help but see it that way and just to make sure I haven't missed anything I think I'll read it again. I still think though that someone ought to tell those pesky annoyingly obsessed people that Sai is gone and forever impossible to find again, dead or something. I see Hikaru at least admitting that he was his student and that his teacher is dead. Sure it might not stop speculations but i think that some would at least acknowledge that the pain in his eyes is real and get it over with the rest of the untold things. I think that it might have quieted them at least a little... and then again it's Hikaru's pain and mystery so I can understand, plus the story is perfectly fine as it is, I wouldn't change a thing. Thanks again and have fun writing! Ja...

I liked relaxing while reading this. This wasn't such high drama that I was glued to the screen, but then again, because of that the ending actually felt satisfying.

I liked how Waya just made things worse because Shindou forgave him. How Shindou wasn't miraculously cured, but took time. I was a bit baffled about all the IsumixLe Ping action, but whatever floats your boat. It wasn't exactly in the way... it just made me wonder how they were involved in all this.

Touya Kouyo and Akiko were great. And Shindou's mum. :D

Kadowaki's wife being an ex of Ogata was great too. Nice little twist. But Ogata was a bit swept under the carpet. We never heard of him again... D: (Not that is a bad thing necessarily...) I would've given anything to be a fly in the room when Akira gave a mouthful to Ogata.

Hikaru and Akira's relationship was great. It was so profoundly simple and just THERE. Made me feel fluffy, even though that probably wasn't your intention.

I'm speechless. The subtleties of this story is so wonderfully overwhelming. This is quite possibly one of the best, if not the best, HnG stories I've ever read.

That was an incredible story. It was vast and touching. It explored so many different characters and relationships. I think you did all of them justice.

This took me an afternoon to read, but it was absolutely worth it. This is nothing less than an epic saga of fanfic. The way all the characters interacted with each other, especially Shindou, Touya, and Waya, was excellent. I was also pleased with the ending: things are starting to look up, but there isn't the stereotypical "happy ending." Great work!

Wow. I just-can't really think of anything to say. I loved reading this, even as I was confused in the beginning, hell, even towards the middle! It sure was a long read-which I'm actually a bit thankful for, as I haven't been reading much lately. I can't believe that it took me over two hours to read the entire thing, but then again...

I'm still a bit confused about the end. "Most romantic thing" that Touya's said to Hikaru? I'm thinking that you meant how Touya said that Hikaru was the one and not Sai, right? If not, then I just might be lost.

And everyone's so well written! I can see everything happening somewhat as you've written it, save a few examples. I couldn't quite imagine Waya saying those things about Hikaru, but then again... You made me look at his character from a different perspective, which I'm always glad for. Also, Hikaru resenting Waya for the comments about Sai but not for the accident took me for surprise for a moment-I couldn't tell that he did! But, as mentioned earlier in part 31, he only accepted it when Waya confessed.

I...still can't really think of anything. Just-amazing. I mean it. :] Great job.

Waya was being a jerk, but it was believable. The interludes about Isumi and Le Ping were cute and made it a bit more light-hearted. (I just finished the manga today, so this was a good follow-up. I've read other HnG fanfiction, but this was nice, long, and realistic for today.)

Very nice story. (The idea of Isumi and Le Ping creeps me out a little, though... 'Kay, a lot.)

Anyway, it was a very nice story to read.
