Sad, but so beautiful. i'll admit there may have been a few tears shed... Jack was wonderful in this story. why must he be fictional? and i'm with the Doctor- how the hell does he turn into a gigantic face? i really hope they tell us one day... great job

Just wanted to let you know that this story brought me to tears. Beautiful, tragic and heart-wrenching. As much as I like to pretend that Rose and the Doctor would have found a way to have their forever, stories like this are all the more compelling because they take the fairytale and bring it into the real world (well as much as is poss for Dr Who!) where Rose will grow old and die and the Doctor will have to learn to carry on. Thank you for sharing :)

I read all this in one go, staying up well past my bedtime in the process, but it was well worth it. It was even worth the part where I broke down and cried at the end, when I'd been doing so well up until the part where the Doctor said, "I loved her."

Beautiful and bittersweet and utterly heartbreaking. I do hope there will be adventures with the Doctor and Jacqueline in the future.

Also, Jack was wonderful in this. I loved the bit where the Doctor realizes that Jack WAS at the Platform, as the Face of Boe. That twist in the series continues to make me laugh.
