Fëanor's reply, 'He's still alive, for one thing', did it refer to Maedhros being alive, or Fingon? As in, Maedhros would not be alive if he'd forced Fingon to do something despicable because Fingon would either kill him Maedhros would kill himself? Or as in, Fingon would not be alive if Maedhros had forced Fingon because Maedhros would send him off into some dark place where Fingon would die?

Lovely dialogue, but that one exchange is messing with my head, to be honest.

Oh, what a lovely moment of reconciliation xD Ingenious and amazingly funny. Feanor on fire. Calling Fingolfin out on the lack of wisdom in challenging Morgoth. Swearing the Oath because the sons needed something to get them excited. Jealousy of Finwe's love. Maedhros could do better than Fingon and have red- and silver-haired kids. Flesh wounds to the head. And Finarfin was adopted. I loved every bit of this story, thank you!

That was spectacular! I loved it, but really it is all Finarfin's fault, poor guy...

Okay, this is definitely in the top 3 Silmarillion humour fics I've read! I totally laughed my head off.

Hilarious! I have to agree with them, Finarfin is a bit if a poncy twerp.

Oh my goodness! This is so irreverent and spectacularly funny and witty and although they were discussing very serious matters, it made perfect sense that they'd be snarky and ironic and mercilessly mean to each other. Somehow this seems to be the only way for them to attempt some peace. If they were to actually take themselves seriously, we'd have epic drama and crying and (virtual) hands wringing in despair. This is better. Humor can be just as good at cauterizing wounds.

Don't worry, Feanor, I completely get your refined humor, I laughed at the whiskey pun so hard that my sides hurt. And the Balrog trick. And being poor at anatomy. And your spectacular selfishness. Eru, I love this Elf (and Fingolfin too).

D'aww, Fingolfin and Feanor bonding in their own... unique, brotherly way. Although I expect once Fingon and Maedhros die and join them they'll get quite annoyed, esp. when it comes time for Fingon to leave. :)

I just wanted to review this story, because it was SO FUNNY. It was great. I was in a library when I read most of it, so I had to clasp my hand over my mouth to keep from laughing.

As many times as I've read this now, you'd have thought I would have gotten around to review it already. But it's hard to review because I can't pick out any favourite bits to comment - it is simply great, all of it, and perfectly balancing between silly and serious. Very witty. Did I mention I loved it?
