I heart this so hard! You do a fantastic job of writing the moments when a brother's head and heart truly understand their counterpart's. The revelations - sudden or gradual - that refocus love and support and identity and faith. I've read some great Sam POV from you, and this story is golden.

The Grand Canyon! I love that you threw that in, before Dean mentions that wish on Show, I think. The brothers really need a vacation someday. :)

What an amazing story! I actually cried while reading it, because of the love and trust shared between the brothers. (And I was on my morning commute, so was getting some odd looks!) This was the brothers at their best, when they'd do anything for each other. And they make it to the Grand Canyon finally! *ignores stupid dialogue from recent show* Really beautifully written.

couldn't believe Dean would change.. no, no, of course not.. but then he was .. and it was horrible, and gut-wrenching .. and ... so thankful Sam stayed the course.

How horrible to understand how emotional traumatic it was for your brother to promise to kill you... I know Dean wanted Sam to be too drunk to remember having him promise. He couldn't NOT promise, but the promise itself... it would be like killing yourself.

I did like the way they took some time - not the "farewell tour" or anything ... but just the time spent together.

Wonderful. Poor Dean always gets the short end of the straw. Nearly transformed twice now. But at least he rode it out, thanks to Sam. Heheh, that line at the end was wonderful: "Well, I guess I have to forgive you, you saving my life and all. / But I don't like being in debt. I'm gonna return the favor, Sam."

Amazing story, it had everything. So glad you had Sam realise just what he had asked of Dean, when Dean asked Sam the same. Loved how you had the boys just being brothers, kicking back, seeing the sights and enjoying life in the run up to the window for the transformation, but had to laugh at Dean only letting Sam polish there car where it would show least! Great suspense as Sam tried all the rituals, amazingly finding one that worked and loved the brotherliness throughout this fic.

This is just...I am literally swallowing a lump. I love it so much, I would tell you my favorite lines, but I don't think the whole story would fit on here :D However this line in particular got to me "Dad was alive, Dean could do anything, and the only thing special about Sam was that he could cross his eyes." Things really were SO much simpler...

You built up the suspense so beautifully. I've always liked the scenario of Sam really learning first-hand what he'd asked of Dean. This story really brought out all the emotions.

Good summary of how a kid would consider his life.

**He picked Disneyland. Dean teased him about it the whole way. And, naturally, ended up loving Tomorrowland and the Indiana Jones Adventure.**

The idea of Sam being willed away was something I wouldn't have thought of, but very fitting. I mean, really, if Dean's going to make a will, what is he going to put on it besides Sam (and maybe the Impala)?

The paragraphs describing their time at the fair were poignant. The style seemed more distant than usual, more of a summary than anything, but that made their reactions to their emotions (Sam throwing up, saving the frog, Dean acting cavalier and sympathetic at the same time) that much more heartbreaking.

Great story, it's been one of my favorites for a while.

The turnabout in their promises was very interesting to read about, and also very heart-wrenching, in a way. I thought that the entire plot was perfectly set up, and I enjoyed reading it.

Whew! I'm exhausted! Wore me out completely! This was horrifying and angsty and funny. I laughed out loud while still drying tears at Sam short-sheeting Dean's bed! I'm still chuckling. And the padded cuffs just about had me on the floor!

You've shown their devotion to each other and the cost of making such promises perfectly. You really have that pegged.

Wow! This was amazing. I liked the fact that you brought in the fact that Dean now owns Pastor Jim's place that he had willed him in one of your previous stories, that I read but can't remember which one.

I was nearly crying by the end since Dean was so close to transfoming,but I knew you would have Sam find some way to save him since you don't write deathfics. Either way excellent read.

But I don't like being in debt, I'm gonna return the favor. Great job on this. I loved that you actually made Dean get bit and then almost turned him. So many writers would have been afraid to take it down that road, too hard to figure out how to escape but I thought you were brave and the resolve was very satisfying. Another thumbs up!
