Excellent one-shot (?). Expanding on the premise of Barricade's association with the Autobots has placed an entirely new slant to all of the characters. Shame that this couldn't be made into a television show (PG-13 and up). Keep up the great writing!

Heya, interesting stuff as usual and a good point about the Nemesis. Some quick notes:

'All access codes and security files were nothing more but data.'

but would sound better replaced with 'than'

'Barricade’s visit to the human’s hometown'

Since it's plural visit should be visits

'Barricade probably thought it to be amusing'

to be would be better with 'would be'

'looking at his partner who was equally sitting on the ground'

Is a little confused, maybe 'matching his partners position on the ground and meeting his optics'?

'as not otherwise expected'

do you mean 'as he would have expected'?

'Each connection reaffirmed the others, already present ones.'

would work better with 'other' rather then others

Also I think the movie confirmed Cybertron as dead and not dying?

Your 'Cade is so wonderfully complex! He helps when Prime asks, but does so in his own aloof, almost grumpy manner. And yet he has a gentle side with Jazz (in spite of their sparring)and he voluntarily patrols the human city, even checkin on Sam...his personality in your work is amazing!

Nice long story. As usual, a good addition to your Imperfection Series.
