For someone in fourth grade, I don't think he should've gotten so many hits with the belt. 18 hits for an eight or nine year old boy is abuse when the belt is used, and I don't think after Harry's childhood that he would be so harsh with his own son/godson. Maybe 3 or 4 for someone that young, or with his hand or a small paddle. Otherwise good story.

i read this quite a long back and believe me, i had no idea what is 'spanking'! i expected a fluff but got this and just couldn't wipe nasty the image it formed off my mind... then i found myself researching about spanking! honestly it's not something i can just ask mum right? research included reading all the spanking stories available on this site which r not rated M...and i don't know why i keep coming back for more, even though most of them disturb me... now that i have gained expertise in spanking, let me tell you that this is really extreme... almost close to abuse. and it was not his fault in the first place... Harry should have known better on things Teddy can't control after he himself have turned his teacher's wig blue and set a snake free... he should have known that it was something beyond Teddy's control...

I think this was a really great story. People seem to be over reacting about the belt. I personally think it was a fine reaction to what happened. I would love to see a fic where Harry spanks a teenage Teddy.

I do not think a belt should ever be used on a child. Spank him yes but use your hand or a small paddle.

My parents used a belt to dicipline me when I was a child and it wasn't as bad as it sounds. It surely hurt a lot but it didn't leave any bruises. I actually prefer it to the hands:)

Well a story is fine but I agree with others that spnaking with belt was a too extrem. I can see Harry as a disciplinarian parent but no so strict. I like this story and I hope that you write some more stories where Harry spanks his children. Something with Al preferably. Hope you write soon

Well this story is well writen but Harry is way too out of character. He would never ever harm the son of Remus Lupin one of his dad's best friends.

This was rather good. The only thing I didn't like was Harry using a belt. I can't see Harry using anything but his hand or a paddle at the most. Other than that good job!

I think twenty strokes with a belt was a bit much for a ten year old, I can't see Harry doing that. Spanking yes but not with a belt especially as Teddy just underestimated his own strength.

But it was still an interesting story, good job.

It was well writen and all, and I know you must get this a lot but you do relize that that is NOT a "spanking" If he hit him with a BELT on his BACK then thats abuse/beating. Which is against the law. I strongly disagree with that and it doesn't fit Harry's character. Only a very strict parent would hit there child with a belt. And after Harry having a child-hood with the Durslys I dout he would hit Teddy. (Maybe with his hand on the butt but not with a belt) Harry seems like he would believe in more like grounding sort of thing.

Well, it's good. Though I have to disagree with the belt-strongly. I don't think such an brutal instrument should ever be used on a child, especially one as young as Teddy. If it had to be the belt, I'd think Harry would reserve it for something worse than getting a suspension from primary school.
