In a way, this made more sense than I'd like - the notion of Smith being nowhere near as carefree and composed as it seems appeals, while at the same time, I'd like to believe he's for real. S'pose that's why this fic left me with mixed feelings; on one hand, I like the notion of Gamma being a good enough friend to accept and offer comfort to Smith not being as strong as he seems, on the other hand, I'd rather believe it weren't needed.
