You've definitely piqued my interest! Your grammar is perfect, there are no spelling errors, and there's just the right amount of suspense! Honestly, it's the perfect first chapter. Bravo.

I sincerely hope you continue with this. It'd be a shame if you didn't. See, with me... I get a crazy idea to write about... I finish the first chapter (or the prologue, er whatever) and then totally forget about it; you know... because of school and everything. Well, clearly, I'm not you... so, you probably DO finish your stories. BUT! You know... things can happen, and stories can be left unfinished, and readers can be left unsatisfied, and then plot bunnies can die! Really, it's a vicious, vicious chain reaction, I tell you. Okay, so... maybe that not really how it goes, but it's a possibility.
