mark-engels chapter 7 . 1/2/2013 This one seems to be the one in which you've taken the greatest liberties, although it seems to fit in very nicely with one of the Parallel Works. Another very well done piece that I truly enjoyed. The dynamic between the main characters is interesting and satisfying, although I'd think that after 700 years or so they'd start to get on each other's nerves. :) MJE |
mark-engels chapter 6 . 1/2/2013 Loved this concept! Very well done. It was interesting and quite original. MJE |
mark-engels chapter 4 . 1/2/2013 Yes, very different indeed. Plays very nicely into the "Simon himself is the harbringer of the Sprial Nemesis" concept we see in the very first scene of Gurren Lagann. Myself and many of the other reviewers here are also fans of CsakuraS' "Sound of Pulling Heaven Down", which explores this concept in a much longer and tremendously entertaining fashion. This segment reminded me a lot of that work too. Very well done indeed. MJE |
mark-engels chapter 3 . 1/2/2013 Interesting AU. Very interesting piece based on the premise that Kittan had lived. A wonderful character study into the tension that would have existed in Yoko's soul as a result. Enjoyed it and thanks for sharing. MJE |
mark-engels chapter 2 . 1/2/2013 Another great installment. What I liked best was it seemed to be inspired by one of my favorite pieces of Gurren Lagann production art - the one in which Simon takes the newly rescued Nia still dressed as the Anti-Spiral Messenger and together the dream of a life together. Simon and Nia leading the charge running hand in hand with Yoko running behind with the two kids and a grinning Kamina bringing up the rear. Nice piece that I'm glad you posted. Thanks again! MJE |
mark-engels chapter 1 . 1/2/2013 A really great story, this. I think this particular installment fits well within the canon and demonstrates the depths to which both Yoko and Simon have been wounded over time. What I particularly enjoyed is how they appear to begin to lean on each another, knowing that the wounds they've suffered are what can help each help the over continue to move forward - the underlying tenet of the entire series, in fact. thayet9 chapter 4 . 6/19/2012 hmm... this one was interesting in a "huh? didn't really want to think about that" kind of way. Its the part of the story that would be nicer to ignore, better to pretend you didn't see, didn't consider. I think it has a place in these oneshots though, it adds variation from the happy happy thats been helping me through my gurran Laggun withdrawal symptoms (I'm addicted and I'v watched all the episodes so I'v turned to ). It makes the series of oneshots richer (at least in my opinion) so though I cant really say I liked it (made me much to sad) I definitely think it is well done and well placed (if that makes any sense) |
silver dagger chapter 2 . 9/26/2011 AAAAAWWWWWWW! see that is happy! I like that so so much more than the other one! YEP, yes i do! |

Sleepy Milkshakes chapter 6 . 5/19/2011 Gah, you updated on my birthday. X3 Really, each chapter is just beautifully written. I'm adding this to my favorites, which I should have done a long time ago, but I read this a while before I got an account. But, I digress - I love it! (I frickin' love Nia. So much~) |
TrentEaston chapter 5 . 2/12/2010 Loved every chapter, but if I could do a request, could you possibly do a Viral/Adiane chapter? |
Bearsho chapter 5 . 12/29/2009 It is entirely beautiful. I'm so amazed... It was definitely worth the wait and so rewarding; written with elegant style carefull characterisation and awsome skills to evoke all the good feelings and a mood of beatitude. You have developed some skill to create a fairytell like, dreamland atmosphere yet with a tuch of reality. It's so perfect I should probably shut up already... Just want to add that I love the little thing already and definitely looking forward for a continuation (would be awsome if multi-chapter). I just don't want to live this place... |
Lily-pois chapter 5 . 12/26/2009 This is really cute! I love that they got to live together on the island and that they have a daughter! Look forwards to reading the next bit! |
argella1300 chapter 5 . 12/18/2009 that was beautiful. very well done. you did an awesome job of adding just the right amount of fluff, but not over doing it and not adding too little, it was just right. |
