Very well done. As a poem, the rhyme scheme and rhythem were perfect, very musical and lovely. As a story, it is stunningly wrought. The emotion is great and shows Dustfinger's character very well. I like how you show him trying to justify his actions, and yet he's still feeling a bit of guilt. The conflict going on in his mind is excellent, very intriguing.

I've never read one of these before. I one-shot in the form of a peom seems a bit ridiculous in my mind.

But I'm glad I did.

Because this was the perfect blend of sadness and longing Dustfinger is always torn with.
