I had a two-hour gap between classes today and I decided to spend it wisely. Of course I ended up reading fanfiction...

No matter what you say about this story, it most certainly wasn't bad. Overall, I liked it quite a lot. The style seems different from your more recent stories; there's more action and dialogue than feelings, in comparison with your other fics. It's not better nor worse; though surely much easier to read.

I was kinda surprised with the ending; most of AD/GG fics tend to end with tons of angst and sorrow - here is just as much as nesessary. Cool; angsty Dumbledore can be overdosed very easily :D

There are three important things that deserve a mention:

First, the writing is fine, but I think I have spotted a couple of mistakes... That hurt.

Second, you slightly messed with the Canon. Not that it's bad, especially since those were details, but as you insist on writing Canon-compliant fics... Oh well. Look - where it comes to Gellert's age and the reason he couldn't continue schooling:
"At sixteen years old, even Durmstrang felt it could no longer turn a blind eye to the twisted experiments of Gellert Grindelwald and he was expelled." - The Life and Lies of AD

Third, Albus is irresponsible! Sneaking out when Ari and Abe (yes, I know it was Ab in Canon, but this just looks better) are asleep? What if Ariana wakes up, and - ?

'Rated M just in case' - no, not just in case. This is M most definitely. :D
The slash scene... I can't say it sucked, I can't say it was awesome. It just was, as in 'existed'. Don't worry, I don't have high expectations.

Good slash is good.

PS No recommendations today, because I can't decide which fic shall I suggest first.

I laughed, I cried, I got angry and I was blank.

I loved it. It was great, incredibly so. I feel so very sorry for them, for Gellert an Albus... for a painful love. Gellert did want to make a better world, but his methods were erroneous.
There were a few mistakes here and there, but it was great nontheless. This is my favorite Albus/Gellert story.

When I first began reading this story your slightly off grammar was really irksome, however about halfway through I fell in love with the story and it didn't even matter anymore. Yes, I loved it.

I laughed.. I cried.. It moved me. Haha, SERIOUSLY great! Absolutely fantastic! Excellent! Bloody brilliant! And a lot of other words of that sort! I'm not sure why, maybe because it's so complex and tragic, but ever since J.K. let the cat out of the bag I've loved this pair. Poor Albus. What terrible things he went through. And he did die for the greater good. *sniff*

My only problem with this so far is that they don't speak like people would have back in those days, because Dumbledore is extremely old in the Harry Potter novels.

They talk like teenagers of today, which is somewhat distracting.

But great chapter anyway!
