Harry can't be trusted. I don't think I'd expect him to be any use against Voldemort since he's already helped him once. The murder of Snape isn't even justifiable since he did try to warn Sirius and the Order that it was a trap. I'd say a nice cell someplace where he could be Voldemort bait is about all the next Dark Monster is good for.

The story is based off a wrong assumption. At least if you accept canon until the story starts.

In canon Snape is on Riddle's side. Well, Snape is on Snape's side, but it fits Riddle's plans.

Because Riddle KNOWS that Snape spied for Dumbledore. Dumbledore prevented Snape from being tried for his crimes as Death Eater for being his spy in Riddle's ranks. Dumbledore says so in front of the Wizengamot. Which is (pardon the pun) riddled with Riddle's followers, marked or not, and Riddle's sympathisers and financial backers. At least ONE of them told Riddle for sure.

And yet, Riddle did not torture/kill Snape after his return. In my opinion it's incontrovertible proof that Riddle got AT LEAST more out of Snape's spying than Dumbledore. Snape even gave an Unbreakable Vow to help one of Riddle's plans.

AND there's NO hint ever for the reader that Snape gave a single piece of information that helped the Order at all. Rowling wanted to keep it in suspense to be able to surprise the reader in the last couple pages, but with that she shot herself in the foot.

The delay alone until Snape raised the alarm about the teenagers' flight to London for SEVERAL HOURS should've guaranteed that the teenagers would be dead if they hadn't been so stupid to fly all the way, instead of flying to Hogsmeade and use Rosmerta's floo, or the Knight Bus. A bit like Dumbledore flew on a broom to London to deal with an emergency in the first book. With a working floo in his office, the ability to adjust the wards for apparition, the ability to create portkeys INTO the school, so OUT is a given, and a sodding PHOENIX with transport capacity for people Dumbledore couldn't really have flown. It's nonsense.

And by the way, Harry did not setup Snape for anything. How could he? Dumbledore personally isolated Harry from everyone and everything. Absolutely. Including Harry's familiar and only means to contact anyone. Or to deliver spy Snape to Riddle. It's not as if Riddle had a telephone and had given Harry his number...

Though I'm grateful that you sparred us the graphic details of Snape's death just had an egg. Though it always seemed that Harry was suspicious of snape's loyalties, thought him a death eater.
And sorry if seems like I'm splitting hair but what the f*** was snape suppose to warn whom about what. The reason Harry thought Sirius's death was Snape's fault was because Snape had provoked Sirius about him sitting idle(as if he had a choice) while others risked their life. The only reason Sirius was at the ministry was because Snape did warn him the dark lord. Now, that I think about it how did the order know that Harry and gang was at ministry Harry only told Snape " he has Padfoot" he didn't tell him where he has him.

I suppose Snape deserve it. I mean how can you be the worst fear of a kid whose family members threw him of a pier I doubt even Riddle can manage that feat. Severus Snape such an accomplished wizard indeed. Hey Snape you know if you're wondering why Neville sucks at potions. Maybe, it's cuz his amnesic you know from the impact on his head when he was punted from 2nd floor by his uncle. The uncle he has to endure because a certain someone revealed a prophesy to the dark lord getting his parents tortured to insanity and the parents of the other boy you like to torment killed.
DUMBLEDORE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT SNAPE. I am sick of people acting like they are father and sons. Dumbledore thinks Snape as an asset, a pawn , a tool he would get rid of ones it's no longer useful. Siriously he let the man get tortured and what not. He even asked him to kill him (though I don't think it affected Snape's soul much he must have murdered before). He let ordered him to not talk about a murder attempt to anyone (but He's done that to Harry too. That makes me wonder about Albus's own childhood, he did fall in love with a dark lord ).
Sorry 'bout the rant please don't delete my review. There's no Snape sympathizing review in here which I find highly implausible to believe so you must have taken your sweet time to delete them.

Snape totally deserved what he got. Because he delivered the prophecy to Voldy, Potters and Longbottoms were targeted. Then he spent years tormenting the students he helped to turn into orphans. And Peter escaped partially thanks to Snape's interference.
