by Paganaidd? These start in a similar way to your story (Harry counselling Dudley about Dudley's adopted daughter being a witch), but hopefully not so similar that you'll feel plagiarised. Dudley is working in child protection, and he and Harry rescue an abused wizard child who is protected by a guardian spirit/ghost/angel who is fairly obviously Snape, and is worried about whether Harry will be a competent adoptive father for the boy - but as you read on, it becomes fairly clear that there's more to it than that.

So I've sort of abandoned fan fiction over the last couple years, but decided to come back to it today. I was reading some of my old reviews and I saw one from you about a year and a half ago suggesting that I read this story. I don't know why I didn't read it back then, but I really wish I had.

This story is perfect. Not only is the writing amazing, but I love the realistic characterization of Dudley. You say so much in such a short story. I can't wait to read the next one.

This was really nice.

Before DH I would have not thought this possible, but in that book, we do see change in Dudley that makes this plausible. It's nice to not see history repeating itself, and for Dudley to display a maturity that his own parents didn't have. I especially like the title - how they are relating to each other as two fathers, instead of reverting back to childhood roles (which sadly is often the case when people who knew each other growing up meet again after a long separation.) Thanks for writing!

I've been looking for something like this since the end of DH. I thought it was well written and Harry and Dudley stayed in character. A good diversion from my English paper.
