I never thought about Kakashi's feelings. I've always regarded him as a sad and complex character, but this story just added a new more depth and an insight of what he had to deal with. This story captured the feeling of regret and longing beautifully.

The story speaks for itself, and now my heart hurts, especially at that line where he went home to emptiness. Hits hard man.

Overall, a very interesting take inside Kakashi's mind. Love it and most definitely would reread it always. Even after 11 years, it executes the sadness perfectly.

This was really well written! I think you did a great job of capturing the feelings of longing and regret and guilt and honestly it was just wonderful!

For all his weirdness, I still respect Gai until the end. His optimism knows no bounds. Of course, if I was Kakashi I would be jealous beyond belief, too. Especially since it's not his first time losing a team.

But then again, Kakashi succeeded as a sensei in his own pace. A bit late, for normal shinobi standard, since it takes years of pain and tears and blood to get his team 7 back as a whole. Karma for being always late to everything, I bet. *snorts* Anyway, his ideals stick into Naruto's soul like a super elastic glue, and that one life lesson is what he teach RIGHT. He should be happy because in my opinion, that should be enough to prove that he's deserved to be their sensei.
