Loved the Zen strewn throughout and Charlie's parallel to the chop wood before and after - very astute sense of symmetry. As always you paint the quiet moments beautifully and notice the little things most miss. Ted commenting on how much Connie touches him. Ever protective our Ted.

Wow! That was really fantastic. You managed to capture the characters really well in dialogue and their little actions. The interplay between them was completely believable and really felt true to the show.

I'm interested to read more from you, whether a continuation of this story or another one. This is a great show and you have talent extending it to fanfic.

I read this and intended to comment but haven't gotten around to it till now. So, here goes: I think you did a really good job getting inside Constance's head here. You captured her love for Charlie and their deep friendship with showing how well she knows him and having him be initially concerned for her. I thought a couple spots sounded out of character, but that's just my opinion, and overall, your fic was well-written.

What a great story! I would absolutely love to see you continue this. You write these characters so true to themselves. It's a rarity I appreciate in fan fic!

I love these lines - But just as he did behind prison walls, he is a challenge to read. Seemingly so open to the world, the real Charlie lives behind a fortress of mistrust and self-protection. Only now a Zen shield replaces the standard cop walls. Some of this calm outer layer is truth. Some is a lie. Difficult to say at any moment which is which.

It is very zen-like. Actually there were many instances where I had to re-read and just relish the circular logic of Zen. Great piece of writing

I really like your story! I like Constance's honesty about her opinion of Ted, even though I like the guy myself. Ted probably doesn't know she doesn't like him.
