Eek, I feel like everything I wanted to say has already been said by other reviewers. But to sum up, I'd say: it doesn't really matter that it follows the anime so much, we get to see things from a different point of view, and you write so well that it makes us feel like we are Okita.. I mean I love how you describe things. It makes them so real. And this idea of keeping Okita alive is great too. I can't understand why people want to make him die- ok they are, what do you call them again,'sticklers'-, he really is an interesting character. Can't wait to read 'Fireworks'! Keep it up!

You know, everytime I searched for Okita fanfics, I always saw the summary for this one, but never bothered to read it, that is, until I realized that it was you who wrote it. You, who has so generously continued to read and review LToML, I felt that I needed to do something to return the kindness. Thanks for all that, by the way.

And I'm actually glad that I did. I love your writing style, and your descriptions are good and, well...descriptive. This is a great story so far, and I can't wait to see what you write now that you won't be following the anime. I also love how you've portrayed Okita and Hijikata's relationship. Great start! I am surprised that there aren't more 'Souji Lives' fics out there... though some people are sticklers for historical accuracies.

Your writing style is very good, which should make this fic a pleasure to read. I wasn't taken out of the story at all as there were no grammatical errors or misspelling (that I noticed). I just hope the chapters get longer, but I won't complain I just love updates. :)

As a small side note, they didn't know that the Choshou were at Ikedaya, which is why they divided their men into two groups... and why Kondou's group of ten (or so) got stuck going up against all the Choshou.

Besides that, this is a very good start, and I really look forward to reading more :). So please update soon!
