So she wants to spare her mother but not her father. It is ok for him to watch her die but not the brainless dumbass neglectful Rene. See now Charlie does not even get a year. How is she going to get to know him when they have less than a year. I bet when the Cullen s come in to the story Bella will completely forget about Charlie she is selfish.

OMG he is suchhh a prickward imo. How cruel to not only dangle the possibility she can live past age 17 in her face like a carrot ... but to suggest that her death would be his reason to also die is also so horrible. That just puts sooo much on her shoulders. That is abusive behavior plain and simple. Still a good story but just wanted to make it clear that I am aware how entirely abusive this whole interaction and those like it are. I would advocate she ditch him.
