I love the Legend of Oma and Shu. I've been thinking of writing my own take on it, and that's how I happened upon yours. I'm doing my research to see if anyone has had my ideas yet.

I think it's wonderful that you made a story from two memorable characters that people rarely remember. They created society for their city, though it was captured and is under the rule of the Fire Nation.

Seriously, this is one of the most beautiful but most tragic legend, and I have never really thought so much of it, but now I realize how wonderful it is. And listening to Itsudemo Nandemo (The ending of Spirited Away) in the background just fit so well.

Good stuff. You have done an impressive job combining your own narrative with that in the series, and really expressed this clever little legend in a believable fashion.
