Misery's-Toll chapter 2 . 9/20/2012 I found you on livejournal, and I'm so glad I did! This story is fabulous. I love how you made Otacon his nerdy, anxious and obsessive self without going over the top, but also included the way that he's unafraid to speak his mind once he's made a decision. And Snake leading their conversations in a way that reassured Otacon of his feelings without actually so much putting his heart on his sleeve seemed very believable. My favorite part was when Otacon asked Snake why he couldn't just pull an all-nighter on the mission and Snake said that he couldn't do that anymore, a reminder of his rapid aging. I'll definitely check out the rest of your Metal Gear fics! |
Aureliusz Vektor chapter 1 . 2/7/2012 "He did what he could. He waited. He watched the last four episodes of Neon Genesis Evangelion again while taking notes in the vague hope it would make some more sense that way, but it didn't. He was faintly aware it was the otaku equivalent of chain-smoking impatiently while waiting for something to happen – procrastinatory, soothing and bad for you – but found he didn't really care a lot. He examined his paper when he was done and found it had three lines of text on it. They were 'Shinji is crazy', 'everyone is crazy' and 'poss. all clever visual/post-modernist metaphor?maybe for religion or poss. being crazy.' He thought about it for a while before discarding it in a fit of disgust at his own lack of inspiration." This is probably the most... accurate description I have ever read. I would say more, but it would just be stupid gushing, and this in particular stood out to me as an uncommon and germane observation. |
SpectrumFizz chapter 2 . 11/16/2010 That was beautifully written, I must say. I love the inclusion of a somewhat translucent fourth wall - they're not aware that they actually ARE part of a fanfic, but Otacon still manages to bring the topic up every now and then without disrupting the story. My favourite part was probably that little section regarding the spam mail. DR BAKARE TUNDE indeed. C': |
DarogaDaae chapter 2 . 12/3/2009 *melts into fangirly mush* That's... so... awesome... I love how transparent your fourth wall is... very much like the games, actually. Brilliant. RIGHT. Brilliant fic. Love it. Is it sad that I knew exactly what almost all of those otaku references were? |
Nightmareish Rain chapter 2 . 10/2/2009 Uh... Can there like be...more? Cause... I LOVED IT! It was so well written and I felt more of the emotions instead of meaningless effing and such. Unlike most writers they focus on the sex but this was awsome! IT SEEMED SO MUCH MORE PERSONAL. Which is important. and I really like the idea with the nanoes. Mega Win. -Niko |
OutOfMySystem chapter 2 . 8/1/2008 Very warm, but not too sugary. The fanfiction in-jokes made me laugh. You really give that pairing a sweet-but-realistic quality. Compared to my work you are much less "serious" about their psychologies and their motives behind the intimacy, but how they trust eachother is portrayed in concrete terms with the whole nano-sex thing. There is something utterly sincere about your writing style. And speaking of nano-sex, patent that idea immediately. I can tell you, the minute nanotech can do it, everyone will go get shot up with pleasure-nanites and spend all day stabbing their PDA's with their stylus! This fic has a wonderfully realistic, sincere quality to it. Given Hal's history I doubt he would be so contact-focussed sexually, so "remote control" via nano-sex really makes sense for the character. And thankyou, thankyou, thankyou for NOT bowing to seme/uke crap, thankyou for writing Hal as a man! |
superenzie chapter 2 . 6/25/2008 I'm really glad I read this. This is the best thing I've read in a...really long time. All of your anime allusions were hilarious, and the flow of your style was kinda...calming, actually. It was very nice. And Schroedinger's cat...I have to say I couldn't stop laughing at that part. Probably because it's more or less of a physics joke to me...anyways. I loved it. |
koro sama chapter 2 . 5/20/2008 WOW! |
Anonymous chapter 2 . 2/7/2008 ANYTHING I EXPRESS IS INDESCRIBABLE. I was speechless at the end of the first chapter; my heart was hurting for Hal. You have this... this way of ABSORBING the reader into your WORDS. And then second chapter came, and somehow, I was SO f-ing happy. Seriously. It was BEAUTIFUL. Please, please write again, soon! Thank you so much for writing this. |
EmpyrealFantasy chapter 2 . 12/30/2007 That was sweet and make me smile. The realistic way you portrayed them was SO endearing, and in this land of badly written fanfictions, you have my thanks for portraying a real relationship. Imperfection is so sexy. XD Can we hope for more from you? |
EmpyrealFantasy chapter 1 . 12/30/2007 Because this is far too good to only have five reviews, I am going to review both chapters. I love how wonderully I can *picture* this... your imagery and emotional writing is wonderful, and I especially like how you haven't overfeminized Hal or dehumanized Snake. Many fall into those traps, but I adore this. My only complaint is that there is only one other chapter. *sadness* |
Redundant Goddess chapter 2 . 11/27/2007 Brilliant. If you continue this it would be awsome, however it is a very good fic indeed. Otacon is well written as is Snake and their relationship carefully considered and well executed. Well done. R.G X |
itsAlana chapter 2 . 11/13/2007 Guh. The unadulterated geeky and incredible hotness and sweet adorable YAY of this and and and. Guh. Firefly, I think you've won the internet, and probably a few lolcats (XD!) because this fic made me laugh very hard at some parts. And then giggle though other parts. And love all the parts. :D OH, FANFICTION. (Thinking of, all the meta was... was... was squee-worthy. :D ) ... Geeky! So very geeky! I love it! *Lessthanthree* |
itsAlana chapter 1 . 11/13/2007 Oh, man, I can't stop giggling. X3 *Goes on to the next chapter* |
Dark Phoenix Rising chapter 2 . 11/13/2007 I found that chapter on a live journal site yesterday and liked it a lot. I'm glad they finally gave in. Great piece of work! |
