RPunte0109 chapter 11 . 11/23/2014 Wow I just discovered this story. Even know it was a little off base with the characters because Coach would never talk to Tami the way he did not would Tami throw him out, it was an awesome read. I honestly like the something different since it's known Eric and Tami marriage was very strong. I enjoyed reading a fic that bit into that strength. Well done. |
SurlyCoach chapter 1 . 10/4/2011 I kind of like a misbehaving Coach Taylor as long as he reforms eventually. I'll have to read on to see. Well written. The only thing I don't know about is Coach being drunk after only five beers over the course of an entire evening. I think it would take quite a bit more than that if he started drinking before dinner. But really well written. I'm going to come back and finish this sometime. |
ICanStopAnytime chapter 11 . 9/23/2011 This was an interesting story arc. Both Tami and Eric drink pretty regularly on the show, but they’re always responsible about it; however, I’d always seen it as something that could potentially become a problem for either one of them, a crutch at a stressful time, and so it was interesting to see you take that idea and expand on it and how it might affect the marriage. It wasn't easy to read because angst never is, but angst also allows for some real insight into the minds of the characters. |
Romantique The Original chapter 11 . 9/27/2009 Bravo! *applause* I loved it. :) |
Romantique The Original chapter 10 . 9/27/2009 Nice chapters. Glad he admitted everything, even though Tami didn't want to hear it. |
Romantique The Original chapter 8 . 9/27/2009 Thank you! For not letting it go to far w/Tyra's mom. I can see how something could start ... but I'm right with you on how far Coach would let it go. Right on! :) |
Romantique The Original chapter 6 . 9/27/2009 Whoa! Eric at the Landing Strip? That's an all time low. Strong Julie telling Dad how it is. And Tim and Buddy to the rescue ... I'm loving it. |
Romantique The Original chapter 4 . 9/27/2009 Whoa. Turn about fair play with Eric and Buddy. Buddy definitely owes him. Very believable. |
Romantique The Original chapter 2 . 9/27/2009 I like where this is going. Very nicely done! I've often wondered what would happen if Coach started drinking too much with is super stressful job. |
Wuchel1 chapter 11 . 2/27/2009 This story had me worried for a while. Good thing he came back to his senses. Very well written. Thanks for sharing. |
Maryilee chapter 11 . 8/16/2008 I love this story and how you finished is perfect. It's so true to life, I could definitely see this happening in the FNL universe. It's like a lost story arc or something. You did a fantastic job writing this from start to finish, and for me to have liked it so much says something because you know how wary I was of the planned plot. I was like, "No way! You can't do that to Eric and Tami!" But you so totally made it work. Kudos to you! |
Maryilee chapter 9 . 6/4/2008 I love how you are going about resolving this. It's so real and heartbreaking, but hopeful too-just like how the show does it. That's an amazing accomplishment! It's SO rare to find a FNL story that sticks to the realism and issues so like the show. It's too bad that more aren't reading and reviewing because they are missing out on a story that feels like it should be a story arc. I've given up on FNL stories here on this site as 98% of them are Tulie and/or Mary Sues, but it's nice to know that at least a few writers are fighting the good fight. I hope you don't mind my little rant and I hope your readers don't blame you for my attitude. |
Maryilee chapter 8 . 5/3/2008 You know what I really love about this? It's the fact that Eric's realization of what is happening to him isn't coming all at once, it's a hard, slow process and he's learning the cost in tiny increments as the life he once had slowly changes. It's not like he's had one 'lightbulb moment' where he says, "What the heck am I doing?" It's just a series of small things happening. |
K.Et.E.N chapter 8 . 5/2/2008 You know, one of the strengths of the show is that at the end of the day... You respect Eric Taylor. This idea of the middle American hero, trying to do the right things, seeming to value the simple things in life... It's what gets to me, at least. But, girl, you've got me actually disliking Eric Taylor... Which is impressive, because he and Tami are (by far) my favorite characters on the show... You do AU without the 'out of the realm of possibility' stuff.. Okay, maybe AU is not the right word.. But you get the point? The writing, as always, was well done... The inner monologue was believable, the turn of events was believable... Just a great chapter overall. I'm glad that it was the possibility of being unfaithful and not the actual act of being unfaithful that seemed to be the catalyst for his turn around. So he's going back to Tami now, right? |
Joe DUDE chapter 7 . 4/11/2008 Oh wow, that was intense, especially that ending. I feel something big happening that will bring Coach to his senses, although I also feel it will come with a price. I'm a little worried here. haha. |
