Its actually quite confusing that she believes ANYTHING from Caroline Bingley. Come on...has she forgotten how conniving Caroline is?

While I agree that it is unlikely the Bennets would have sung Amazing Grace, it is not for the ludicrous reasons given by brokenheart10. The hymn was written by an English slave captain turned Anglican minister, John Newton, who wrote a hymnal with Cowper one of Jane Austen's favourite poets. At that time it was not sung to the tune we know nowadays so it would have sounded very different.
However at this time the Church of England did not sing hymns in their services and hymns were usually only sung at dissenters meetings and Methodist meetings which the Bennets, even Mary, would be unlikely to attend.
